    7Hz Impressions & Discussion

I just picked up the Crinacle Zero 2 for $35 Canadian. Plugged just into an apple 3.5 to usb-c, was quite disappointed. Then I plugged it into the iFi Go Link and it was a huge improvement. Wasn't expecting it to sound that much better but the iFi definitely made a big difference. For $35, they...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

I heard the IE800 several years ago but I remember distinctly how large it sounded. An amazing sound. Just got a new cable for my IE80...I'll have to listen to them again. Not in the same league as the IE800 but still was pretty good

What situations do you use wired IE's like Sennheiser ID 600 or 900?

Well I use them at work now. I went from using my b&w px7 s2 at work to bringing my Schiit Asgard and Audioquest dragonfly (before it crapped out) to the office. One day I decided to bring out my Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 and fiio Q1 and just really enjoyed the sound. So I switched to IEMs at...

    Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 alternative

I do find the P1s to be a little bass light with certain music. But if I turn on bass boost on the Fiio Q1, it sounds excellent! I'm still considering trying the ie200. I just would rather not have to replace the cable right away

    Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 alternative

Well I decided to just go with the Fiio FH3 after just going back and forth between trying to decide which one I really wanted. Hopefully sounds good! Plus I got a replacement cable for my old sennheiser ie80

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

Haven't heard many IEM's. But I'll rank what I've heard and owned. 1. Thieaudio Monarch MKIII 2. Sennheiser IE800 3. Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 - (own and still love) 4. Sennheiser IE80 - (own but needs a new cable) 5. Shure SE215 - (owned years ago, lost them but they were pretty good). 6...

    Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 alternative

Hello Headfiers, Havent posted in a while but looking for advice. In a sea of what looks like a million IEMs, I'm looking for an alternate IEM to the Pinnacle P1 for less than $400 cdn. Very happy with the sound of the P1, but I've had them for years and wondering if I'm missing out with the...

    Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread

Thanks for your input! I heard the HE-1000 (don't remember if it was the V2 or SE) but that was the impression I got. I also found it did well for cinematic/soundtrack kind of music but wasn't as engaging for rock and metal. Not sure about other genres.

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

Ive had mine since it first came out. I've had to fix it twice in about 7, 8 years. One piece fell off few years ago, had to remove the ear cup to reattach it. And this time the ear cup actually fell off.

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

I still think the Mahogany are my favourite headphones that I own. Granted, other than the B&W Px7 S2 Bluetooth headphones, I haven't actually bought headphones in a long time (except the beyerdynamic Dt880 600ohms edition which I ended up selling not long after I bought them)

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones

Great price for an excellent headphone! I'm using them as we speak as I do stuff around the house! Very comfortable, great anc when needed and most importantly they sound very good!!
  15. FlyingFungus

Where is the price/performance "sweet spot" in your opinion?

I paid under a $1000 Canadian for my setup in 2015. Schiit Asgard, Audioquest Dragonfly Black and the Fostex THX00 Mahogany. I was definitely satisfied with that setup for a long time. I still love the Fostex and Schiit combo (dragonfly is basically dead). If I was rich, I'd get the Sennheiser...

    Best sub-bass $400 or less

The Thx00 or Denon D2000. Both have an excellent sound signature and go quite deep

    Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!

I really wish B&W would make another wired headphone. The px7 s2 is a great Bluetooth headphone. I regret selling my wired P7 despite being on-ear which I don't like. I'd love to see what they can do now

    Dragonfly COBALT vs.............Discussions

That's a fair point. I got my dragonfly black almost 9, 10 years ago. Clearly hasnt changed much at all. I guess dacs/amps was never a main part of their business considering how much they offer in cables and power conditioners etc. They probably figure that the dragonfly sold well, might as...

    Dragonfly COBALT vs.............Discussions

I was looking at the Questyle M15 as a more mobile option. It was recommended to me recently. Definitely open to other options
