There are these two songs that play fine on my PC, but on my iriver it tries to read the track, then skips over to the next one. I cant find anything wrong with the tags. Do I need to update the DB or something?

I was wondering if this would be good for recording lectures in class. Can you record for unlimited time in some compressed form and get decent quality playback?
