Just bought a pair of Asics Gel Cumulus 9's I've ran about 120km in them so far...I really like 'em although the rubber sole is wearing out quite quick My feet are on the wide side (and flat) btw

I'm loving the reviews from new people like myself! But I think I'm going to drop these from the list of headphones I'm considering buying. Maybe it's just me, but if I'm paying $100 for a pair of headphones, I'd like something better than a pair of Skullcandy's right off the bat.

From what I understand, external USB "DAC's" don't even utilize the full benefit of USB 1.1, so I doubt it would make a difference going from PCI to PCIE...It has something to do with audio not needing a massive transfer speed.

Unless you have the external HD on all the time, IMO any HD enclosure is "good enough". Something for $20 on Newegg will do you. I was in the same position as you a month ago and discovered that I could get a higher quality internal HD with a 5yr warranty (vs. a 1 or 2yr one with a "pre-made"...

How about an internal HD with an enclosure? I think WD internals come with a 5 year warranty...

Foobar for playing music Winamp to manage it

I just installed J. River on Vista 32bit after hearing all the hype....and it crashed on me Ugg, I liked winamp more then J.River

I'm considering the A700 I listen to a range of music, so it's sorta hard to pick a HP (R&B, Surf Rock, Alternative...). Basically I want a "good enough" setup to keep me happy for a year or two

I'm only concerned with music quality (flac/mp3) as I don't game. Given my budget is $100 or less, what should I do? Buy a EMU 0202 (or something similar, Fubar II maybe) or a PCI soundcard? One of the primary reasons why I'd like something external is the ease in connecting a pair of...

Side note: How do you find the 0202? Any change from your computers onboard sound?
