AKG N700NC Wireless Over-Ear
Have used mine for well over a month now, and really impressed. Heavily recommended, and when used in wired mode they are superb with a clean, detailed and easy musicality, a really addictive listen.- hal55

Optimising AAC on an Android 9 tablet ( Samsung)
In a few weeks I'll be getting a AKG N700NC wireless headphone, which has copped a bit of flack in reviews for only supporting SBC and AAC. My music library is on a Samsung Tablet, a Tab A ( T590) in lossless flac, and I'd like to optimize the wireless playback thru the headphones if...- hal55

AKG N700NC Wireless Over-Ear
A revised version, the n700nc cm2 has been released but, other than a reference to fastcharging, I can't find any information on it. Obviously, really hoping for the addition of better codecs. Anyone know anything about upgrades, and has anyone any comment on how effective applying Trunot was?- hal55

Earbuds Round-Up
I have a holiday coming up and just after a cheap pair of shell type earbuds to throw in the suitcase with a Samsung tablet. Definitely not IEMs, my ears cant stand them. Previously I've used the cheap Monks quite happily, but the foster cats at my place seem to have dragged them off and hidden...- hal55

Android phones and USB DACs
I've ripped my music to flac files on a xiaomi mimax2 phone, it works great as a server feeding an Xduoo xd-05 DAC/ headphone amp, but I'm stuck when trying to listen to music via a valve DAC that feeds my conventional stereo. The DAC is at least ten years old, and certainly doesn't talk to...- hal55

B&W T7 Bluetooth speaker.
To open this up a bit, maybe a sounbar would be best? Any ideas? -
B&W T7 Bluetooth speaker.
Soon I will need a portable speaker for when I start doing house sits for people. I have a great portable DAC and headphones, but need a portable speaker for the rest of the time. Since I'm in other people's homes I can't set up my home system, but I want something that isn't a disgrace sound...- hal55

Doppler noise reducing earbuds or similar
My partner listens to TV shows, especially things like Lethal Weapon, too loud for my liking. I've found Doppler earbuds online, they seem to fit what I'm after, the ability to compress or tailor sounds, but are a bit pricey. Any comments on Doppler or similar but cheaper earbuds appreciated...- hal55

XDuoo XD-05 Portable Dac/Amp Introduction - Impressions
You will like the Burson. I certainly do and the chip has less than ten hours on it, so plenty of burning in still to do.- hal55

Okay, problem seems to be solved. the xduoo seems sensitive to the media player being used and doesn't work properly with either mediamonkey or groove music. Has been running for some time now on foobar2000 with zero glitches, fingers crossed it stays that way. What is still utterly bizarre is...- hal55

This is just getting crazier by the minute. mediamonkey won't output any sound but groove music will, except there is a faint popping or squelching sound every few seconds. It's also doing it on the usb input from the phone. Worried I've damaged the usb input in struggling to get the case back...- hal55

Thanks, bizarrely the unit is now operating fine off optical, line in, and usb via my mobile phone, but, the laptop and the xduoo aren't working together. They seem to recognise each other, but there is no output. Will tear my hair out a bit more later tonight trying to sort it. On the positive...- hal55

Can someone please confirm the orientation of the Burson chip in this unit. I've just fitted it, thought i had it correct, but there is no sound. I reversed the chip and , horror, still no sound. It starts okay with the chip in both positions but is dead both ways .- hal55

miniplug to 2 RCA cable under 50 dollars
Looking for a recommendation for a sub 50 dollar cable with a rich, organic nature. Just using a cheap no name at the moment which sounds okay but sterile. Would audio quest evergreen be about my best bet at this level?- hal55

Thanks very much! The xduoo is brilliant but I do find its tonal balance to be a touch bright, not much, but enough to be a little wearing after a while. I'll try the Burson which sounds very much what I'm after.- hal55

Would you describe the burson upgrade as making the amp more tubey/analogue?
