Dude, I come back to these forums for the first time in years and I love to see that this thread is still going! with all the insanity going on across social media it's amazing to see this place is so much the same :joy:. Meanwhile I'm catching up on years of unprocessed photos, some of the...

Fuji X-Pro1, Fuji 10-24mm lens (first time using this lens seriously, quite nice, though don't have Lightroom profiles yet). First shot was handheld on a railing, second on tripod, third lucky placement on a flat rail post (I ran up to the platform when I heard the trains coming so no time...

Eh, doesn't look too bad here - The placement of it could be a tiny bit better, but otherwise it works with the shot. Cool starburst and lovely shot overall.

Thanks!     Some, though probably not as much as you might think. Mostly color and contrast stuff in lightroom. No faking the sky or anything. I was exposing for the sky then played around with lighting the foreground different ways with my smartphone (which has about the brightest...

You mean you'll pay for me to go back? How nice!     I do hope to go back in a couple years with a more serious focus on photography (rather than trying to see lots of things).   In the meantime, one from home.

Thank you, yeah, that's definitely one of my favorites from the trip now. Didn't even realize how well it came out until I went to process it.      Heh, I openly admit I'm a sucker for detail.  The hard part is not getting so caught up in it that you miss what makes the hobby fun and...

Not yet anyways, there's a standing rumor that one is supposed to be released this year.   I'm using the rokinon (samyang) 14mm - all but the first shot in in the last post I made were with that lens. The second shot is not corrected for distortion (occasionally I leave it when it...

Touristy temple stuff, let me know if this is too torturous . The Fushimi Inari Shrine in particular is something I've always wanted to see in person.

Depends on the photo, I used both my X-Pro and the 6D extensively. 6D mostly for night shots, and in Kyoto. Exif is on the flickr page if you want to check for a particular photo.

Not specifically, I booked it quite a while ago knowing I may hit it or not. Being just on the tail end of it in Tokyo was a nice surprise, and visiting Arima Onsen (the last few I posted) was great since it is higher elevation, so the petals had really only just started falling. That was a...

I didn't find it nearly as overwhelming as I expected. It probably helps that I'm tall but moving through the worst crowds was more a matter of just picking the right wave and moving with it. My most annoying experiences were travel/tourist related. Narita was miserable - the airport is...
