SM64 To Replace SM3
Quote: You must be talking about the lineout the audio straight from the dock. Sure it gives a much better sound as the signal is fed straight from the iPod to the amp and to the earphone with being amped by ipod's internal amp (lousy sound quality in comparison). which means noise...- ricky1989

SM64 To Replace SM3
Sibilant doesnt occur to me, most probably because i quite like the bone chilling highs I would love to hear feedback from people who are going to get (buy/ convert) the 95ohm version before making the jump. Shipping would worth it only if improvements are found.- ricky1989

SM64 To Replace SM3
Yea, i was posted with the news. Sounds incredible for earsonics to do that. In the same time, does it means ours are now officially Limited High Impedance version? lol Anyways, the conversion process requires us to post the earphone back. (for anyone who is going to take the offer)- ricky1989

SM64 To Replace SM3
In HK the amp is around $4k HKD (~500US). Which is cheaper than the earphone, where shops are asking for 4.5k HKD (560US).... Yea, especially it comes packaged with a DAC. I used to own a RS Predator, sold after 9 months of use, entirely because of the bulkiness it caused- ricky1989

SM64 To Replace SM3
Quote: I dont have an amp in the moment. I plug it directly to my mac and an ipod touch. Again, with the computer, the earphone sounds better as Mahalko said. This is a reason why i am eager to test it with sony's PHA-1 (looks nice and not really expensive)- ricky1989

SM64 To Replace SM3
I have to agree with Mahalko comments about the sm64. The highs, mids and lows are presented in a neutral and balanced fashion (perhaps with a tint of warmth compare to ER4's). Soundstage is really wide, placement of instruments and vocal are good. However I noticed instruments separation is...- ricky1989

Westone ES5
How does the soundstage, particularly the mids of ES5 compares to universals like SE535, um3x and Westone 4? I dont really like the forwardness (right next to your ear drum) of SE535. While the closeness of um3x to W4 are most enjoyable for me- ricky1989

Frogbeats C4 Review - An Incredible First Experience in the CIEM World
How does the C4 compare to JH13pro and ES5. I currently own a pair of um3x, owned Westone 3 and have listened to the Westone 4. I prefer the sounding of Westone 4 over my um3x but miss it doesn't give the Highs of Westone 3.- ricky1989

SD Card instead of CF into iPods (i.e. 4thGen)?
I have a iPod Photo (4th Gen) and the hard drive is failing on me. I know most guys would replace the mechanical drive with a e.g. 32GB Compact Flash (CF). I am wondering if SD card could be used by junctioning with a SD -> CF adapter, before placing them along with the mini-IDE adapter into...- ricky1989

Thanks for the upgrade. Misses how the threads were sorted. The Threads are now sorted by Lastest Posting (correct me if i am wrong). Excellent in doing specific search; it might be good for "Hot topics" but not so good for "browsing". The pervious layout was better for my liking (sort...- ricky1989
