If you like any form of rock, you need to hear Oceansize
For everyone just getting into Oceansize, try listening to their stuff more than just once. They are one of those bands that take a while to "get". Their music can seem complicated, but when it hits you you'll never look back. -
Name an Underrated Artist (Include Song)
Quote: I didn't really like it at first. It's a bit different. But all it took was a few spins and it's at least up there for me as good as Everyone Into Position. Favorite songs: Silent/Transparent and It's My Tail and I'll Chase It If I Want To. I CAN'T STAND the first song Part... -

Unknown, rare, but fantastic artists you think people should know about
Not exactly unknown, but definitely not known enough: OCEANSIZE. I cannot get enough of this band. Every album they made is stellar. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1595 -
Best Closed Cans from $150 to $200
I love my 840s. A lot. They need some time to break in, but when they do they are clear as a bell, without being harsh at all. Bass is honest (read: not bloated), with well defined tone with plenty of weight. Midrange is awesome. Highs are clear. I have not heard some of the others...- 3DCadman

AD700 vs M50 vs SRH840
Regarding the bass on the 840: I have played Rickenbacher, Fender Precision, and Fender Jazz basses and I can confidently say that the 840s reproduce the real sounds of those instruments very well. All the tone and timbre of those basses really come through faithfully. It may not be subwoofer...- 3DCadman

What do you all think? HD25 II or SRH840.
Properly amped, 840s do not lack bass. The bass is also very good pitch wise. Some of the best rendered Rickenbacker or Fender Jazz bass I've ever heard was in my 840s.- 3DCadman

Building a Headphone Measurement Lab
Tyll, just a thought: Have you contacted John Atkinson at Stereophile magazine for measurement advice? Stereophile has been supportive of the headphone hobby over the years and I bet John would be willing to help in some way! He's been measuring exotic stuff forever!- 3DCadman

Newbie Here Saying Hi - lots of questions
Lord Melch, I might have misunderstood you a bit. You can certainly use a USB stick to COPY the music to your PC itunes would run on, as long as they stay there. Marcus C, foobar2000 might be a bit overwhelming for a newbie It was for me as a seasoned veteran!- 3DCadman

Newbie Here Saying Hi - lots of questions
Itunes needs the music to be somewhere permanent. If you put it on a USB stick, I think itunes will remember that location. Once the USB stick is removed, next time you try to play the music, itunes will show an error. Do you have a permanent "music library" location?- 3DCadman

New Comply™ Foam Tips compatibility update!
I recently got a pair of Monster Turbine Pro Coppers. They include what looks to be a Comply T-400. Are these true Complys or a copy? To be honest, I didn't like the sound with them. If it's not a Comply, I'd be willing to try a real one to see if it sounds better. It seemed to muffle the...- 3DCadman

I wonder if they're aluminum. Aluminum is a great thermal conductor. Actually, any metal that is a good thermal conductor is also a good electrical conductor.- 3DCadman

ElevenBee, I'm assuming that was you defending the Coppers @Sickdeals. Good job! These are fantastic headphones, IMHO. Some of those people were very closed minded in their posts. I'm astonished as everyone else that Monster actually made a good sounding headphone. The fact that some of us...- 3DCadman
