Short notes on Yuin G2A and Sennheiser MX980

Needed a pair of phones (or two) for listening on my laptop and at work, so picked up Yuin from Ebay & Sennheiser from a local store.   Both earphones IMHO are worth their price.   G2A is more airy compared to MX980 (with foams on). MX980 without foams has a bit of a treble imbalance...

Yuin G2A for classical? (or Senn MX980?)

Hi Guys,   I am looking for a clip-on or earbud for classical music on my laptop. I am ruling out over the head headphones (really messes up my hair permanently) and IEMs (need to hear a bit of outside noise). I read that MX980's are excellent, but because I am new to portable phones, it's...

    The best Audiophile upgrade/tweak?

Thorough earwax purge! I just got one today, and it felt great. Hearing all sort of higher frequency details now... unbelievable! Free at your neighbourhood walk-in clinic.

    Sweeney Todd

I may not be familiar with Broadway musicals, but Johnny Depp's singing in Sweeney Todd was like torture to me. He can't sing! I mean he got the notes right but that's about all.

    Moth Audio 2A3

So today I was at my cousin's house and I had a chance to listen to the famed Moth Audio 2A3 amp. Listened to most of the stuff using my HD650. Since I'm not a very experienced audiophile, I can only say that I was thoroughly impressed. Since it's out of production, I'm wondering is there...

    Symphony Fantastique Recommendations

I only have one CD of this piece (Philadelphia/Ormandy), but recently I came to enjoy it very much. Are there recommendations? Any idiomatic readings of this fabulous piece? Thanks

Is there a SS kit that sounds comparable to Meier Opera?

Has to be balanced sounding, not easy to listen to, but not lacking detail. Any suggestions?

    Never vacuum your headphones! EVER!

I guess most of you don't need to read this to know, but for those who are contemplating cleaning your headphones using the vacuum, better not do it. The foam ear padding on my Grado SR125 was too old and was constantly dropping sponge dusts, so I decided to vacuum it. I ended up sucking the...

Has anyone seen Brimar tubes made in USA?

Just got the NOS 6080 tube I bought from eBay. Sounds like a Brimar, but is made in USA (they are supposed to be a UK company right?) The tube says 'BVA foreign' on it. Has anyone have similar experience?

best remastering of Rachmaninov playing own concertos?

Love to get some information on this. Cannot be satisfied with the Naxos set (I am only satisfied with Ward Marston and Mark Obert-Thorn for their transfers). I suspect that RCA has something good, because I liked their remastering of Rubinstein's mono cd's. So any recommendations?

new darkvoice 336i: static on right channel

Does anyone know what the problem might be if I am getting static clicking sounds on the right channel on a new Darkvoice 336i? The clicking isn't too loud, but pretty obvious with no music being played. It persists even when the audio inputs are unplugged. Thanks

Need help: amp for HD650 and classical music

Hi, I'm a pretty inexperienced headphone listener. Looking for advice on an amp ~$400 or less for use with a pair of HD650 that I got recently (my second pair, used to own a pair of Grado SR125, although auditioned HD600 and RS1). I'm a pretty hardcore classical listener, I listen to almost...
