are there any "tweaks" how to improve the audioSIGNAL quality from USB ? does power conditioner improve something or using notebook with battery not plugged to ac all the time. any software settings that improve something ? etc. and how to get the "first" volt correct/good quality to begin with.

Hi, i purchased DAC1 USB and i have "Dual Conduit USB cable (two type A to one type B)" - separate cables for the power and signal lines. Does dac1 usb need usb power lines ?? i tested and it works without those power lines, connected only signal lines. Does this affect sound quality or harm...

Id like to know wich type of wire i should use if i need to place my dac far away from pc. my best bet is optical cable but id like to hear that from someone smarter than me. as far as i know usb would not work at all with that long cable ? am i right ?
