Interesting. I've always had bad luck with aftermarket pads. ZMF headphones are intended for pad rolling so they are an outlier. Every Focal headphone I've had, Stellia, Clear MG, and Utopia all sounded better with stock pads by a mile. I've used Dekoni pads on the Focals. Never pad rolled a...- Tubewin

What rings did you use? I ordered a generic 3D print from eBay (China), and the attachment tabs snapped on me as I was trying to flex it when putting it on. I've been using some Auteur pads on the Sundara (which I got some generic injection-molded cheap things from Amazon) and that has worked...- joshua1122

...whole "pad rolling ruins the Susvara" thing is nonsense. ZMF Auteur Solid Hybrid: The Auteur pad is a great platform for the Susvara. The earpad opening is nearly identical to both the stock and Dekoni pads, except it's quite a bit deeper at the back providing a steeper angle. Size-wise...- thefitz

Tbh I don't take many of his videos seriously. Just laughing about them. As for me I liked the sound of Peacock. Only things that made me disappointed were the earcup/yoke and earpad designs. On the other hand egg shaped Hifimans starting from Arya are a lot more comfortable.- helloh3adfi

I'm definitely gonna look into this because Susvara sounds best resting on my ear, it becomes a little loose so thicker pads ... Yeah!... thanks🙌- OCC7N

Maybe. Ask Hifiman to be sure, I never tried something like a sundara ring, it might work? I'm not sure. This might work. https://store.hifiman.com/index.php/earpad-mounting-rings.html Ask hifiman if you can buy the ring from the Susvara pads, that would be the best option.- ufospls2

I suspect it might be due to the change in earpads as it is well known that the earpad significantly affect the sound quality. There might be minor effect related to the plugs too as 3.5 gives a larger surface area for conductivity, it might also yield slightly better results. Just like...- Gavin C4

I noticed the same thing when hifiman sent me replacement pads. Photos are in the post link below https://www.head-fi.org/threads/hifiman-susvara.853031/post-16085650 When I contacted hifiman they said there was no revision to the harmony pads even though the pads were not the same size.- yolosauce

Just wanted to crosspost (original post on headphones forums) with my findings with potentially new earpad revisions for the Susvara. This was originally in response to a user who asked if others have also heard a difference between 2 Susvara units. Maybe it's been confirmed and I'm just late...- Feilong4

The link you provided are the same rings I used. You got to use a bit of pressure. You want to lips to go between the housing and the metal filter. It will work.- Somatic

I have problem to fit these O-rings to my Sus also. I ended up with double-sided tape. BTW, does anybody know if this replacement headband will fit on Sus? also what is the difference between "Small" and "Large" size? Large is longer or wider?- haweckO

...removed the pads but the Hifiman rings I ordered are other dimension vs. the original. These don't fit. https://store.hifiman.com/index.php/earpad-mounting-rings.html The original has a marker R (right), L (left) is a little oval on the bottom and the 4 pins are a little higher to snap in...- Trance_Gott

Your offer is very nice and productive. I actually should be getting my set shortly so I can’t take you on my offer. Sad to hear the negative experience? I’m going to use the fully round rings from the HIFIMAN website. Have you tried the Eikon pads without the dust filter?but I might see this...- Somatic

I recently received the Eikon Hybrid earpads recommended by some forum members for use with a Susvara headphone. Here is my experience. I first stripped away the earpads from an old set of disintegrating Susvra earpads so that I could just get the rings. The first attached photo shows that the...- JeffMann

Do you prefer the Eikon Hybrid over the Universe Pads Hybrid? Which one do you find more comfy? Timbre gets better? How does soundstage and treble change over stock? I think you mentioned sub bass extends further with these 2 pads, right?- Somatic

I hear you about ear-pad rolling. The only reason I ordered the Dekoni ones is because the Susvara I got was used and the earpads were somewhat worn out. Tube rolling is one thing, but earpad rolling ain't someplace I'm going to. That's one reason I'll be selling my ZMF Verite Opens; if I've got...- LarsMan

Yes, these are the ones (Eikon Hybrid suede/lamb). No, the mounting rings are something specific to Hifimans, therefore must be found and ordered separately (e.g. from the Hifiman store).- geomaso44
