For some reason I feel like it might ruin the FD7 by doing that too much. No reason in particular, just superstition with an abundance of caution for babying my favorite IEM.

I have used the FD7 on the Mj3 a few times. It’s 50 ohms, so a higher than average impedance, but even still, it’s like putting a muscle car engine in a hatchback. It sounded great and totally unnecessary and probably a huge waste of power. I don’t usually do car metaphors but this fits lol

Haha entirely. I’m an introvert and large crowds/intense social situations can be exhausting to me personally. But a lot of companies are putting out some incredible gear this year most notably ZMF.

At this point, I'm just making excuses as to why this shouldn't be my endgame amp. I'm seriously considering crawling out of my hole and attend a head-fi meet just to demo this amp.

Gadgetry Tech has a pretty positive review of the 620S... I'm curious to see if anyone who has the 109 Pro could compare the mid/treble performance between each headphones since that seems to be an important area where both might have an excess of energy (sometimes).

I tend to leave all my right-side switches in the down position. Low gain, SE, no feedback. If I get a less sensitive headphone, I’ll bump it up to high gain, and if any of my headphones are lacking in dynamics, I switch push-pull on. I tend to leave feedback off all the time now.

My current rig is very similar except my DAC is the Schumann not R26, and I have yet to drive a high-end planar like the E3 or Caldera with it. It's a fantastic SS rig imho. The Mjolnir 3 loves R-2R DACs.

I use it as a line out from my work laptop to my desktop speakers and while that 1v from the RU7 means that the output is lower than, say, the balanced XLR from the same preamp, it sounds clean and quiet even when turned up past 12 on the volume dial.

Ooh FD15 looks interesting. I hope they keep the treble in check with a more vocal heavy response. Insufficient bass with mids-forward and spicy treble could make the whole tuning sound tilted towards the upper end. But a bass response on the level of the FD7 would work for me. Speaking of FiiO...

Fwiw, I EQ the Delci to clean up the mids to treble transition so it loses the muffle. It doesn't require much to get it sounding fairly natural. Really enjoy it once it's fixed because the treble is already pretty clean and extended for a 1DD before any tinkering. I think I like the Delci more...
