    Grado Fan Club!

My thing with this is I want to be able to use it with just my ibasso DX260 portable DAP without an amp. And again all of the ones I've had except in the GS and PS series, the latter with the exception of the 500e, have worked. But again I don't find it overly bassy, and certainly not boomy. I...

...So either your tastes differ wildly from mine or your sound source/material is very different. I just tried "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish on an iPod Gen.7, both being quite bass orientated. And while there is quite a lot of bass indeed the GH2 never loses control of it and the listening...

IMHO This review is that good it should be in the review section. Agree with most of it (but I do not have Ananda).

...103 dB/mW and 10 ohms. I found them easy to drive from most sources, though the bass really shines with a bit more power (Quedelix 5k is enough, iPod 5.5 gen leaves a bit to be desired; both Chord Mojo and VE RA2FE+Prime DAC sounded great). Three tuning switches allow meaningful adjustments...

I also took these to the gym connected to my Ipod Shuffle and Mp4 player listening to 16bit FLAC files from SD card. I also connected them via various dongles for example the Venture Electronics...

Ive been Addicted ever since. Funny cause in 2004 I thought iPod was the best thing to happen to mp3. Oh Boy was I missing out.

...I tune all my headphones to the exact same frequency response target and not one sounds similar to the others. You are lucky as you will save a ton of money if you aren't hearing changes in sound from one thing to the next. Just need an old ipod and some koss porta pros and you are set for life

    New DAP.

Thanks. That size is good. A little bit smaller in length than both my iPod Video and Fuze+. Which I think is good, since I want to make sure it's pocketable. Ok, I guess I'll try to find some videos of the UI, and see what I think.

...could've just placed two buttons on the left side, raise the remaining 3 and presto, we'd have a device much easier to use, but, y'know, the iPod (I guess?) has a scroll wheel, and everyone else have physical scrolling things, so... Right? You can protect your investment with a case, which I...

Pretty much any Sony, and this includes the Japanese versions, of which I have two, lack power. It's their "kryptonite" if you will, and ALL of them require an amp to optimize their capabilities. Now, that being said, I never use an amp with my A17. I just like using it naked, but that means...

My vote is the Ibasso DX180. Got a replaceable battery which most DAPs nowadays do not allow. Meaning this one will last a long time as the battery can easily be replaced by the owner. Fast charge with battery that gets a solid 12-15 hours of use in a single charge. Bluetooth, Android13. Fast...

Awesome to read this comparison and praise of the H60. I've been also looking into a DAP, have older ones (iPod 5Gen Classic, Fiio X5, K9 AKM, multiple dongles) and would appreciate your input on this. Really like Sony's WM1AM2, but read it does not have power? also considering offers from...

That is what I do, recopy every few years. I am sure there are programs that can be used to check the integrity of a drive but I have used any.

Yeah I think as long as you’re copying the data over to new drives every few years it should be ok. My iPod used to have a way of checking data degradation, I believe, something like ‘volume’ or such. It wasn’t easy to check. Is there a way to check storage drives for degree of data deterioration?

...again. I've not settled into a groove yet and am instead flitting about from one song to the next. Frankly, I'd be happy listening with an iPod and Apple earbuds, so starved have I been for tunes. But I'm loving my Raal HSA 1b and SR1a at the moment since I recently upgrade my DAC (to a...

The DX180 needs at least 100 hours of burn in or play time to open up and the frequencies to settle.

...an update to the DX320, but the DX180 gives me a taste of the current state of iBasso as I dip back into DAPs (I haven't had a DAP since my old iPod died and I switched to using phones+dongles). Forgot to add: re volume cap, not sure what I should see here. There is an option in Settings to...

...Or so the Q&A above suggests. Operating system comments: The proprietary iOS is simple. Most intuitive and reminded me of the original iPod days of old. Copying music from my MacBook to the internal 64Gb storage was painfully slow. I would love to see a faster USB 3.x implementation and...

That's interesting about the RS1x, because for what it's worth, I'm listening to mine right now, playing some house music with a lot of bottom on it, and while I'm not getting the basshead BASS, I'm still getting that thump in the chest. But that's also what I like about it, so different etc.

...It sounds so detailed and spacious yet musical, just lovely. My personal hero is still the GH2... while not going as deep as the PS2000x it offers nicely balanced, warm bass with very engaging mids and nice sparkle up top, and all that while using it from an old iPod... Fascinating.
