Music from MacBook Pro through W4S DAC2
This is probably old news but it was new to me. Just updated my MacBook Pro to OS Sierra. I now can't play music from my computer via my Wyred4Sound DAC2. After an email to W4S I now know that since OS ElCapitan the DAC2 is unable to be used. I guess 6 years for an otherwise great DAC is an...- landgreen

Cavalli Liquid Fire
I haven't been following Head-Fi for a few years so am a bit out of touch. I've had a Cavalli Liquid Fire since 2011 and it still sounds great with the Audeze LCD-2. It's time to get back to a 2 channel speaker system so I've put it up for sale. Is the Liquid Fire still thought highly of in...- landgreen

Cavalli Audio Liquid Fire
Last month I bought a Project Debut Carbon with a Bellari VP130 tube phono preamp to begin my reentry to the vinyl source world, which I've been away from for 5 or 6 years. Still using and enjoying the Cavalli LF and LCD-2R1. I'm absolutely loving just enjoying listening to music that sounds so...- landgreen

Alex Cavalli just confirmed the need for the phono preamp as well with another reminder about the RIAA equalization requirement. He's very impressive with the fast and thorough replies to any LF related questions. Similar thanks to Morbid Toaster and Steve Eddy.- landgreen

Cavalli Audio Liquid Fire
I'm considering reentering the vinyl and turntable world with a Project Debut III Carbon tt. Does anyone know if the output from the stock Ortofon MM cartridge has enough output for the LF or should I anticipate buying a phono preamp? Thanks- landgreen

Haven't reviewed all 110 pages of this thread so maybe this has been asked and answered. Some of you must use different sources to your LF (ie DAC and phono). Do you use high quality rca Y adapters (one male, two female) with rca cables from each source and switch the sources on and off as...- landgreen

Audiophile in training. Help?

The Audeze LCD-2 Ortho thread (New)
Quote: Last year I owned a V200 for a few months and recall it being a great match with the LCD-2r1. Smooth, powerful and precise sound across the frequencies without sounding clinical. I've seen some postings on other threads questioning the bass quality of this combination and don't...- landgreen

Your 'unlikely' audiophile songs
Quote: I'd never heard of Ryan Adams but downloaded Blue Hotel and Damn Sam last night. Fantastic recordings. Thanks for the suggestion. -
LCD-2 / LCD-3 FR graphs
I've really enjoyed the Q Cable with the LCD-2r1. Tremendous definition and clarity across the frequency spectrum and on a more practical note, no tangling as compared to the SD with the longer lengths that I need.- landgreen

There ya go. When I bought the V200 I had been having compatibility issues with my newly purchased LCD-2 and a Woo WA2 so was thrilled with how the LCD-2 sounded at that time with the V200. You guys are all more current with your listening experiences. Cheers- landgreen

Quote: It's been quite a few months since I had the V200 but I seem to remember the bass being very solid. The only reason I sold it was at the time I had it and a Lyr and the tube presence of the Lyr won out. I was really tempted to pair the V200 with an Eastern Electric Mini Max DAC to...- landgreen

Quote: This is a tempting upgrade. I have to pass along how happy I am with the LF (stock tubes) fed from a Bryston BDP-1(mostly FLAC) and W4S DAC2 then out to LCD-2r1 with Q cable. Before settling in to tonight's hockey games I listened to the first 3 and last 2 tracks of Genesis'...- landgreen

Just downloaded the hi rez Doors album on HDTracks. No problem hearing all the instruments and Morrison's voice with great clarity but it seems lacking in bass. Just me or anyone else find the same? -
LCD-2 and LCD-3 Owners - which aftermarket cable do you use?
FWIW, I switched from the Silver Dragon, which was very good, to the Q cable and the biggest difference to me is how light and unnoticeable the Q is. I had a 15 ft Silver Dragon and found it was always tangling compared to the 12 ft Q cable. Soundwise it seems that the Q might be a bit more...- landgreen

I'm sure you'll enjoy the LF when it arrives in February, Warrior Ant.
