Source- Sony DVP S7000 - Do I need external DAC?
I have the S7700 and use it as a transport for my OMZ and a Sonic Frontiers TransDac. I haven't used the S7700 as a standalone for quite awhile but what I remember was the added resolution with an outboard DAC.- utep10

Which DACs sound analog-like, fun, and musical?

Attn: DEQ2496 Users
It's been so long since I've had mine but I do remember that I only used the EQ feature. If you haven't done already, I found the posts by member gerG to be of great help on the DEQ2496. Here is one thread but I think there are a few more...- utep10

Marin Meet - 10/18, 2008 Impressions
Thanks to Grahame and Joanne for hosting. I really enjoyed the gauc 'n' chips and the adult beverages. Thanks to all who took the time to bring/setup their equipment. It was a weird day as I ended up spending more time travelling then at the meet. I always end up taking lengthy tours of...- utep10

I feel sorry for REAL Raider Fans
...for Al Davis. Mike Shanahan has done fine since leaving the silver and black and Lane Kiffin might do fine as well. Maybe it is worth all this ****, to get your foot into NFL head coaching, using it as a stepping stone to somewhere much better. I guess the point of the thread is my...- utep10

SF Bay Area Meet in Marin -- Saturday, October 18, 2008
Grahame, I've sold the Pico/DAC so I will not be bringing it. Good possibility that I'm going to sell the AT AD2000's as well. Anyone locally that wants to buy them, please PM me about them. On the other hand, the OMZ I'm bringing has just gotten the v4.2 upgrade from Ori. I'll be...- utep10

What Are Your Keepers?
Based on a little reading here, my first purchase here were my HD600/Cardas combo way back. For whatever reason, these HD600s have some nice cushy pads that make them very comfortable for me. Though, far from the best headphones, I've grown attached to them like "old sneakers". Don't think...- utep10

Oritek OMZ DAC, thoughts ??
I've had a few iterations of the OMZ and I currently have the latest version with the headphone amp/ preamp configuration. I've been very happy with it. Transparent with a clean sound. And Ori has been a great person to deal with for me. Though this is strictly personal preference, I prefer the...- utep10

Anti-Cables Appreciation thread
I use the speaker cables and like what they do for my system. For these, I recommend going bare wire, take the anti-cables termination off and scrap off the insulation. Cleans up the sound nicely. -
Any Night Ranger Fans?
Saw them twice in concert during their "Midnight Madness" and "7 Wishes" tours. Nothing groundbreaking but a whole lot of fun to see/hear. I seem to remember some funny smelling stuff going on at the shows as well. What is that stuff -
