Modern-day equivalent to K501's?
I'm a long time 'midhead' and I also owned a k501 for a good amount of time. In my opinion the k501 emphasizes treble just as much as the mids. The only memorable things about it were it's equally detailed mids/treble, and its interesting soundstage. Personally I like mids because I really...- TwitchBladE

Matrix Mini i ASIO4ALL
Alright, well I've tried WASAPI with both usb and toslink and foobar gives me the following error when trying to play any music files: Unrecoverable playback error: Unsupported stream format: 44100 Hz / 16-bit / 2 channels. All of my music is 44100 Hz 16-bit, CD audio. When I play the...- TwitchBladE

Matrix Mini i ASIO4ALL
Quote: Perfect reply! Another question though, would there be any benefit to using toslink over usb for this dac? Assuming I used ASIO4ALL for the usb and WASAPI for toslink. I notice if I use ASIO4ALL over usb with the matrix, when playing a 44100Hz file, ASIO4ALL reads...- TwitchBladE

Matrix Mini i ASIO4ALL
Windows 7 here. What I mean is in asio4all the dac does not show up as an output option - only realtek does. In the asio4all explanation guide, the dac shows up as an output option in asio4all. http://www.head-fi.org/t/221237/asio4all-explanation- TwitchBladE

Matrix Mini i ASIO4ALL
I've been using Realtek Digital Output(Optical) as the playback device. Is that the correct one? I have everything disabled in windows "sound" except that one. I get sound, but asio4all cannot identify the dac nor can I see the dac in the device manager. It does not give me the...- TwitchBladE

Emotiva Pro airmotiv4 Loudspeakers Review
I'm selling my Emotiva Airmotiv 4 speakers for financial reasons. They are in working condition and have only been used for a couple of months. They're practically like new with the original box, cables, and everything that came with it. There's no scratches on it, or any signs of wear. Price...- TwitchBladE

Best Dac Under $200 XLR Out
Never mind about the usb. I can just use toslink instead. Is there any dacs that come to mind that utilize toslink, have xlr out and are around $200.- TwitchBladE

ASIO Version 2.1 Not Working[Solved]
Hello everyone, I hope I posted this question in the correct forum. I've used asio4all in the past, I know how to set it up(using EnOYiN's guide), however, I just reinstalled windows so I need to set up asio with foobar, but it seems that when trying to add in the new 2.1 asio foobar...- TwitchBladE

AKG K271?
Well, it's been a while, but I've now listened to the k240, k271, and koss dj100 each for about two to three weeks. The first thing I'll say is that none of these really impressed me at all. K240: The one I disliked the most. Cheap sounding bass that is flabby and weak. The mids are...- TwitchBladE

AKG K271?
I'm definitely going for the 271's next. And if I don't like it, amazon will pretty much return anything for a full refund as long as you return it within 30 days. Bass or coloration kind of doesn't matter to me, but if the headphones have some bass then I don't mind at all. If they have...- TwitchBladE

AKG K271?
I'm not really looking for bass, I was just pointing out that the bass on the k240's nothing to mention at all. When it goes low, it can distort pretty easily. Try some low freq 0db sine waves and you'll see. The bass is also not that high in quantity. I'm looking for midrange and soft...- TwitchBladE

AKG K271?
I've been listening to the k240's for about a week now and the midrange is alright. The mids's definitely better than the ad700 and FA-011 in my opinion. However, the mids lack alot of detail. The bass is also WAY weaker than some people made it out to be. It's actually extremely flimsy and goes...- TwitchBladE

HiFiMan EF2A HELP!!!
A friend of mine just bought a Hifiman EF2A amp/dac, and when him and I hook it up, no sound goes out to his grado sr125i's. He's using a laptop with with windows 7 64bit if that's of any use. Windows seems to identify it, but doesn't output any actual sound.- TwitchBladE

AKG K271?
Thank you very much electropop, you pretty much answered every question I had. I'm actually just going to buy the k240's off of amazon, then if I don't like them, I'll just return them and try the k271. Then, if I don't like those, I might try the dj100's as I hear they have relatively...- TwitchBladE

AKG K271?
"you'll start to spin your wheels" ... cool story bro. The biggest difference between the two is isolation... Sure. The fact that they both probably sound different isn't a big deal at all. <--sarcasm By the way, I'm not five years old - I'm aware of what a closed headphone...- TwitchBladE

AKG K271?
Are they equal in the mids? Or very close at least? I'm not sure what genres the music that I listen to would fall under, but I'll just name some common bands and hope that you're familiar I guess. Bands: Brand New, The Shins, Fleet foxes, bright eyes, third eye...- TwitchBladE

AKG K271?
I've decided that I'll probably go with the k271's because nobody has said that anything is better at their price range. One more thing, I've read that the k240's use the same driver as the k271. Is that true? I read that the k240 is just the same thing as a k271, just with more bass...- TwitchBladE
