K701 thread
Hi guys, I just got the K701's. The newer model made in china without the bumps on the headband. They sound great, i'm running them through my Asus D2X soundcard, do you think a Shiit Vali would be a worthwhile investment. =)- Colactix

Thanks guys. (I know it's a late reply) I know the 'burn in process' is much debated, but the sound seems to have increased in quality, whether this is a placebo what does it matter. Just a Quick Question Regarding Headphone and Amp's
Hi guys. I just picked up the AKG 701's, (previously had ATH-M50's) and i was wondering if an amp/DAC would be of any benefit. I'm running my headphones through an Asus Xonar D2X soundcard on my PC. I do have to crank the volume up higher on the AKG's to around 50% for a normal to moderate...- Colactix

Do I Need An Amp/DAC?
Hi There Im fairly new too the headphone world. I got myself a pair of ATH M50's a couple of days ago. I was wondering if i needed an Amp or DAC. Currently im using my Asus Xonar D2X audio card and it sounds good. But would an Amp/DAC make it sound much better? and if so what would you guys...- Colactix

Thanks great reply, The sound is better, but i notice a sort of hissing background noise when i turn up the volume and especially on audio with guitar solos and little vocals, could this be due to the lack of an amp or bad settings on the equalizer?- Colactix
