Why are flagship headphones so expensive now?
Though the most precious substance to a human is of course water (H2O) as we'd be dead within approx 7 days without consuming any. Though my 8 year old daughter argues that's it's Air (O2). Though carbon has to be up with the most precious also. Only a rather silly economic system would put...- ib1dance

Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone
Nice rounded sound. Spatial (relating to, occupying, or having the character of space) information (reverb etc) in the music is reproduced very effectively on these headphones. There is a clear distinction between the spatial character in the music that the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 (open) produce...- ib1dance

DAP for beyerdynamic DT1990
Ok. I wasn't specifically refuting your claim as you didn't provide anything to backup your claim, you maybe correct, you maybe wrong, you maybe whatever. But in general ,non-scientifically trained people can, and do, believe whatever they want about anything and everything they want. Which is...- ib1dance

DAP for beyerdynamic DT1990
The D.A.P doesn’t have to be capable of "High resolution" as their is no evidence that high resolution audio is perceptionally a "higher quality" experience for humans. Maybe it's placebo Audio that sells products. https://youarenotsosmart.com/ Just a D.A.P that has low distortion and...- ib1dance

FiiO X1ii - Worthy Upgrade?
"FiiO X1ii - Worthy Upgrade?" I've recently just "upgraded". I wanted something a little smaller. The other main differences of the x1 ii ,like the touch screen scroll wheel don't help much as far as managing/playing/finding music is concerned. Upgrade if you want a smaller player...- ib1dance

Have you heard these headphones
Hello, Which headphones would you consider to be most like the following: 1. Capable of producing a Frequency response of 14 - 26000 Hz (value of hd518 for comparison). 2. Constructed to last with a slim and light form factor (maybe blue-tooth). 3. Open to the sounds of the...- ib1dance

Grado e Series
Thanks for the post, the info on how the RS1e maybe not so popular is interesting though purely speculative. Of course people have a individual preference when choosing a particular sound signature, though my above post is specifically about the quality of sound in relation to Grado's s...- ib1dance

Grado e Series
Hello, I own a pair of Grado SR80. Thinking about the upgrade to the SR125e E series. I've browsed this thread and there is the all too common "They sound better take my word for it" response (Donald trump style rhetoric). Though I haven't see any actual recorded measurements. Quote...- ib1dance

Ultra-portable open headphones
Budgets not currently a issue with ultra portables as all I have seen to date a comparably inexpensive. Though I'd pay handsomely for a improved version of the sennheiser px100's II. Better components, smoother more tactile ear padding, wireless ( Micro technology allows the player to be...- ib1dance

Ultra-portable open headphones
Hello, I haven’t been reading the forums for a while. I'm interested if there has been any development in the ultra-portable line of headphones. By ultra-portable I'm referring to headphones like sennheiser px-100 II's & Ultrasone HFI-15G's etc. # open back. # Light weight. # low form...- ib1dance

W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!
Thanks chupacabra314. That difference was produced by an oversight .I hadn’t achieved a decent air tight seal. Doh! I feel like a Muppet now (not a fool though ,as I learnt from my mistake). Oh well,at least listening to music with the correctly fitted westone 30's will quickly...- ib1dance

W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!
I stand completely corrected ! . I'm human thus prone to making mistakes. In this case it would seem I have learnt from them :-). It was simply a problem of the supplied tips not quite fitting correctly. So,even though the IEM's felt right they didn't sound as they should due to a lack of an...- ib1dance

W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!
( I did not have a air tight seal) I did not state that the W30's did not have sufficient bass for me. The music track I compared the W30's on had been produced using a technique called side chain compression. What this does achieve, on this particular track, is slightly lower the...- ib1dance

W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!
I couldn’t decide which to purchase, the W30's or UM30's. I eventually went for the W30's as I enjoyed listening to music with the original W3's. I'd also read they were similar, though more level, overall than the Westone 3's . (Incorrect as I had an incorrect fitting seal)As I...- ib1dance

W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!
Edit: Please note the below review is flawed as I hadn't acheived an air tight seal on the westone 30's at the time ( though I thought I had). My later review (several posts on) is more accurate. It's a learned skill to be critical ,especially when you want to like something like an IEM you...- ib1dance

W3 VERSUS W30 - - EXCITING NEWS!
I've just ordered some W30's. (past owner of westone 3's) . There will never be a perfect IEM,headphone etc etc as the word perfection is an absolute and there is no evidence of such a state ever existing, thus perfection is probably an imagined anthropogenic ideology (amongst many many...- ib1dance
