Well call it what you want, that was my initial impression. Yes it was only 2 songs, not enough time to formulate a proper opinion, but initial impression I found it lacking fun despite being technically amazing.

I heard the E3 recently and while technically brilliant, for some reason I just wasn't blown away by it. It sounded perfect, but to me, not that exciting. Maybe it was the source (an RME ADI-2) or my music selection. It was a short demo as well, just 2 songs.

I've only ever sold 2 headphones as far as I remember. Audeze EL-8 Open and B&W P5. I don't tend to sell headphones because I honestly can't be bothered unless I really hate them and they're worth the effort of selling

Loved reading this! Congratulations on getting the HE-1. They are the best set of headphones I've ever heard without a doubt. I got 2 sessions with it (1 for 15 minutes and another one for 30 minutes). No matter what kind of music I threw at it, the sound was just incredible.

Thanks for your input! I heard the HE-1000 (don't remember if it was the V2 or SE) but that was the impression I got. I also found it did well for cinematic/soundtrack kind of music but wasn't as engaging for rock and metal. Not sure about other genres.

How do these compare to the Hifiman Arya v2 (non-stealth)?
