Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A
@RAAL requisite Alex Quick question, is it possible to hear/demo the SR1a anywhere in Serbia (if yes, where/how)? Thanks and keep up the good work!- RMiller

NEW Vali Schiit AMP!!!
Got my Vali today, #300... was a bit worried pairing it with Sony MA900 after everything said here, but no problems for now, there's a slight whine when I plug in the headphones, but it goes away faster than I can find the song I want to hear :D Granted, apartment I live in is not the quietest...- RMiller

NEW Vali Schiit AMP!!!
Same problem happened to me once and I did have to reinstall in the end... maybe there is another solution to that problem, but finding it may take more time than reinstall itself :)- RMiller

NEW Vali Schiit AMP!!!
Thanks :) Yea, I know there's no silver bullet here, but since I can't loan or otherwise demo many dacs, I'm trying to at least in some way narrow the selection. I already have Modi for my home rig, and now for my second/office one I'd like something different; though Modi is fine I'd like to...- RMiller

NEW Vali Schiit AMP!!!
Mine is shipped internationally, maybe there's some difference in the process then, who knows though :) Btw, I've read the whole topic, but still I'm a bit puzzled, is there any DAC that should go well with Vali other than Bifrost Uber and more expensive options? Something like $250-300? :)- RMiller

Yes, you will get confirmation ("Your order at Schiit Audio has shipped"), until then you can only wait, mine took ~4 days to ship I think :)- RMiller

Thanks for the MA-900 info, they are not that sensitive as the specs on paper might seem, but good to hear there was no issues :)- RMiller

Schiit Modi USB DAC
Yea, that could be the problem, maybe some authorization-related issue. The safest thing is to check with your admin.- RMiller

Schiit Modi USB DAC
It could be something wrong with the Windows installation. I'd try upgrading it to SP3 if possible and if nothing else works.- RMiller

NEW Vali Schiit AMP!!!
To me at least MA900 don't seem to be that sensitive despite the low number, I use them with Asgard2 on high gain; will be getting Vali most likely even if it doesn't seem a good match, for 120$ what the heck :D- RMiller

Quote: I had some buzz on my A2 touching the volume knob, but as eventually I've found out, only when my desk lamp was turned on, even though they were not plugged into the same socket. Anyway, definitely worth experimenting with different walls/cables etc. in such a case :)- RMiller

Quote: I'd get A2, aside from the switch it's also dead silent, while the first version had problems with hum iirc. Anyway, 40$ isn't a big deal and a new thing is always better :)- RMiller

A2 between 9 and 11 for me... gets really loud after that unless the source is extra quiet.- RMiller

[REVIEW/COMPARISON] ATH-AD900X vs ATH-AD1000X vs MDR-MA900 - It's STILL over 900!!!!
Quote: Well, HD650 is usually 2x-2.5x more expensive and probably same goes for orthos, I guess it would've been pretty disappointing (for 650) otherwise :P- RMiller

Sony MDR MA 900 (new release from Sony)
I don't think it's just you. I have Asgard 2 and first tried it with the switch on low gain, but they were pretty quiet and I had to crank up the volume to a half almost. Now I'm always using them with the switch on high gain :)- RMiller
