Agree with Euguy - detail is good and I can compare to Momentum's - yes it is better.- GSARider

Sennheiser HD 6,7 & 8 DJ thread. Opinions, reviews, feedback, pics, discussions, etc.
Definitely more bass, on first listen I was apprehensive as quite a few cans these days have a very uncontrolled bass response, but the HD8's are all good - if you like tight controlled bass with plenty of it... Now all I need is a shorter cable for out & about use...! For those with an...- GSARider

As I have the Momentum's and have tried back to back - the HD8's have a 'wider' soundstage and definitely deeper bass. Sound leakage wise, they're also better than Momentum's or Amperiors.- GSARider

Couple of days in and they continue to impress, took them away for a long train journey today and isolated well from ambient sound and managed about 30-40 mins a time without overheating my ears...I can only keep the Momentum's on for 15-20 mins by me before I start getting fidgety.- GSARider

Treble clarity is good, just right imo, I'd say it's on a par with the Amperiors in this respect, I can't tell much difference. The bass is the biggest part and the sound is more spatial than the Amp's. Biggest thing for me is that they're more comfortable than my momentum's - which have now...- GSARider

Pretty good, less leakage than the Amperiors and better isolation than the Momentum's.- GSARider

I don't have anything else that would be comparable in terms of price, etc. I have a pair of Denon 7100's which are huge compared to them and a lot more expensive, but the HD8's have a deeper bass, but not as airy in terms of spatial presentation.- GSARider

Sorry, I worded that badly - the HD8' have more bass. Overall I'd say the HD8's are better overall. For portable use however, the two cables are too long on the HD8's, hope they bring out a 1.2m cable for them to use out & about. Comfort wise, they're excellent, have had them on for the past...- GSARider

Pretty punchy sound, I was concerned that the mids would be recessed when I first put them on, but I'm happy with them. I've only tried the HD25 II's once and can't recall what they were like. I have a pair of Amperiors and they sound better in terms of bass delivery (which is tight and...- GSARider

Sennheiser HDVD800 Headphone Amplifier
Just been trying the HDVD 800 with the new HD8-DJ's - sound is pretty good for closed backs, not up to the same level of detail as the HD800's obviously, but a bass rich sound that doesn't overshadow the mids & highs.- GSARider

Just got mine ...nicely packaged, carry case is as per Sennheiser's usual - quite big, however looks pretty sturdy. The construction of the cans is good too, however have noticed a 'squeak' when the cups are moved, slightly irritating when putting them on, but okay when moving around. Sound wise...- GSARider

I quite liked the overear JVC's - sound was warm, but pretty good. I'd like to spend a bit more time with a pair, but was pleasantly surprised in the short time i had a listen.I'm considering getting a pair for my ever growing collection just to have a play...- GSARider
