Would a Schiit Asgard + Modi make sense? Or would it be a waste?
No but I've often heard that they do improve drastically as your other components improve.- CrimsonTowers

Would a Schiit Asgard + Modi make sense? Or would it be a waste?
Any idea how they'd pair with Ultrasone Pro 900 specifically? I know the can be found for much less but they retail for around $550.- CrimsonTowers

Would a Schiit Asgard + Modi make sense? Or would it be a waste?
Would it make sense to pair the higher end Asgard with the Modi? I don't have the budget to go any higher than the Modi but I am able to go one tier above the Magni. I'm just wondering if the Modi would "degrade" the chain making the Asgard pointless. I'm currently using a Fiio E7. Would...- CrimsonTowers

Love my Ultrasone Pro 900s. What next?
Quote: Really? I definitely didn't feel like the Grados had even less bass than the 600s. Granted, I auditioned them close to a year back so I could be wrong. And thanks for those recs.- CrimsonTowers

Love my Ultrasone Pro 900s. What next?
Quote: More of basshead if anything. I definitely don't want a pair that's lacking in bass and to be honest, the 600s really are (not as in recessed, just incredibly neutral). I don't need Ultrasone level bass because I already have that, obviously. I'm looking for something maybe...- CrimsonTowers

Not sure how I feel about Senns. In the past I've loved their products but I do tend to prefer a more colored signature than is typical with Sennheiser.- CrimsonTowers

Love my Ultrasone Pro 900s. What next?
I'm seriously leaning towards Grados (the Sr325is blew me away), but it's hard to find them for a price below retail. In terms of budget, I'm looking for something ~$250.- CrimsonTowers

Love my Ultrasone Pro 900s. What next?
I'm looking for some cans to compliment my Pro 900s. I love these things to death and they suit many of my listening needs (which mostly include metal). They are hands-down the best set for electronic music so I'm covered there. But I do want another pair of cans for the less bassy metal...- CrimsonTowers

Unfortunately I don't have them to compare but the Pro 900s seem to have an even wider sound stage than my old open back HD 518s? Is this even possible?- CrimsonTowers

I've got to say that I prefer Crimson II in every way. Musically yes, but the production is also so much better. Some songs that sound particularly amazing with my Pro 900s:- CrimsonTowers

Received these earlier this week. Very very very satisfied with them. I have to say I was slightly underwhelmed at first by the signature but as I continued to listen I pretty much fell in love. Psychological burn-in is certainly a real thing. Any song suggestions to take these cans to...- CrimsonTowers

I listen almost exclusively to metal and I'm thinking of getting either the Beyerdynamic DT 990 or the Sennheiser HD600.

Quote: OP here, and although I've already personally decided on the Ultrasones, I want to chime in that I really did love the Grados for metal. I went in and auditioned a bunch of pairs... and I would have walked out with a pair of 325s or PS500s if I had the money.- CrimsonTowers
