How old, and what year did you get into tubes?
My first tube amp was a mere 5 months ago. D: LD MKII, purchased roughly 2 weeks after my 18th birthday. I've since made a considerable step up to my SP MPX3 SLAM toaster.- Namrac

I would go to the HD580 much quicker than I did, and go tubes much quicker than I did.- Namrac

Most awesome rock song INTRO?
Crazy Train by Black Sabbath. If they had stuck with that initial guitar line, the song would have been twenty times as awesome. -

Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!
"Shevanal, Take 2" by Between the Buried and Me. I've never heard a better-sounding acoustic guitar. Also, the snare drums in "The New Black" by Every Time I Die. I love the impact and snappiness. -
Your nomination for best VALUE headphones around....
Gotta back up the HD580. $150 for sound like this is incredible.- Namrac

Great deal on HD580
They're very balanced, even representation across the sound spectrum. Probably more bass than the K701, but it's not at all bloated or sloppy. They just sound... right. Detailed, even, slightly warm, and a very refined presentation. I love mine, and I can't think of a better headphone deal than...- Namrac

Do all tube amps run hot?
The tubes run hot, and will probably burn you if you hold your finger on them. It's just how they're designed.- Namrac

My Father-in-Law Just Gave Me His Fisher 500!!
Very nice. My father's hinted at giving me his Yamaha/Klipsch setup (Which I believe was about $2000 in the late '70s) once I get settled in a place of my own after college. The sound those things can put out is simply phenomenal.- Namrac

SS or tubes for Sennheiser 580?
I agree with the others, tubes are the way to go. They really liven up the Senns, which would otherwise be too slow and boring for my tastes.- Namrac
