7Hz Impressions & Discussion
I just picked up the Crinacle Zero 2 for $35 Canadian. Plugged just into an apple 3.5 to usb-c, was quite disappointed. Then I plugged it into the iFi Go Link and it was a huge improvement. Wasn't expecting it to sound that much better but the iFi definitely made a big difference. For $35, they...- FlyingFungus

Sennheiser IE800 IEM's
I heard the IE800 several years ago but I remember distinctly how large it sounded. An amazing sound. Just got a new cable for my IE80...I'll have to listen to them again. Not in the same league as the IE800 but still was pretty good- FlyingFungus

What situations do you use wired IE's like Sennheiser ID 600 or 900?
Well I use them at work now. I went from using my b&w px7 s2 at work to bringing my Schiit Asgard and Audioquest dragonfly (before it crapped out) to the office. One day I decided to bring out my Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 and fiio Q1 and just really enjoyed the sound. So I switched to IEMs at...- FlyingFungus

Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 alternative
I do find the P1s to be a little bass light with certain music. But if I turn on bass boost on the Fiio Q1, it sounds excellent! I'm still considering trying the ie200. I just would rather not have to replace the cable right away- FlyingFungus

Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 alternative
Well I decided to just go with the Fiio FH3 after just going back and forth between trying to decide which one I really wanted. Hopefully sounds good! Plus I got a replacement cable for my old sennheiser ie80- FlyingFungus

Mee Audio Pinnacle P1 alternative
Hello Headfiers, Havent posted in a while but looking for advice. In a sea of what looks like a million IEMs, I'm looking for an alternate IEM to the Pinnacle P1 for less than $400 cdn. Very happy with the sound of the P1, but I've had them for years and wondering if I'm missing out with the...- FlyingFungus

Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread
Thanks for your input! I heard the HE-1000 (don't remember if it was the V2 or SE) but that was the impression I got. I also found it did well for cinematic/soundtrack kind of music but wasn't as engaging for rock and metal. Not sure about other genres.- FlyingFungus

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
Ive had mine since it first came out. I've had to fix it twice in about 7, 8 years. One piece fell off few years ago, had to remove the ear cup to reattach it. And this time the ear cup actually fell off.- FlyingFungus

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I still think the Mahogany are my favourite headphones that I own. Granted, other than the B&W Px7 S2 Bluetooth headphones, I haven't actually bought headphones in a long time (except the beyerdynamic Dt880 600ohms edition which I ended up selling not long after I bought them)- FlyingFungus

Where is the price/performance "sweet spot" in your opinion?
I paid under a $1000 Canadian for my setup in 2015. Schiit Asgard, Audioquest Dragonfly Black and the Fostex THX00 Mahogany. I was definitely satisfied with that setup for a long time. I still love the Fostex and Schiit combo (dragonfly is basically dead). If I was rich, I'd get the Sennheiser...- FlyingFungus

Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!
I really wish B&W would make another wired headphone. The px7 s2 is a great Bluetooth headphone. I regret selling my wired P7 despite being on-ear which I don't like. I'd love to see what they can do now- FlyingFungus

Dragonfly COBALT vs.............Discussions
That's a fair point. I got my dragonfly black almost 9, 10 years ago. Clearly hasnt changed much at all. I guess dacs/amps was never a main part of their business considering how much they offer in cables and power conditioners etc. They probably figure that the dragonfly sold well, might as...- FlyingFungus
