True. I have the Hiby R3 II for comparison, which is probably the closest to the BTR7 and yeah, except the clunky Bluetooth operation it's not too bad.- kalibri

The Qudelix-5K thread
I agree about power not being significantly higher, it is higher though if someone cares enough I guess. Also, the BTR7 doesn't have any hiss even with super sensitive IEMs, to my ears at least, so it's pretty good in this regard. Purely from a sound perspective I do like the BTR7 slightly...- kalibri

The Qudelix-5K thread
If you want to stretch it out a bit maybe the BTR7. Just kidding, no, it's not even close in terms of software. It's much better than when it launched but it still only supports 3 profiles (at least then can be renamed now) and the interface is crap compared to the 5k. It sounds freaking great...- kalibri

Geez dude lighten up a bit, you act like your life depends on the 5k. It's OK, it's a fine device and you'll love it. See above my friend, come down on the ground, go outside and touch some grass, I understand you probably debated a long time on what to get and now some dude on the forums...- kalibri

Compared to you, I use my own ears to make a judgement. And I don't think I failed to follow etiquette, I am talking from my own experience, not parroting reviewers. I truly believe I am a step ahead of you as I actually own the devices I talk about. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, not my...- kalibri

No it's not, it's you who are biased cause you do not have points of comparison. I do have them and I can talk from my own experience, I do not have to rely on reviews.- kalibri

The Qudelix-5K thread
I own the BTR7 (and the Go Blue and way more dac-amps) and the 5k is nothing special in terms of sound, it in the bottom drawer. If it wasn't for the software no one would be talking about it.- kalibri

The Qudelix-5K thread
Probably. But no one buys the Qudelix for the sound, they buy it for the software. The sound itself is fine, it's decent, , it sounds like a $100 device, I think my BTR7 and other DAC-amps I own sound better for example.- kalibri

If it's your best device then yeah sure. It also depends on what are you using with, it's perfectly fine for IEMs and probably most non-hungry cans but it will not be sufficient for certain headphones.- kalibri

Not me. It's a portable device with a battery and Bluetooth so that's what I am using it for. Your setup doesn't make much sense but I won't kink shame, you do you. Also, instead of Peace, use Aqua.- kalibri

Best IEM tips?
I find them quite meh, they're decent with non bass-y or overly treble-y sets but on the Monarch mk3 for example they ruin the sound. There are much better tips out there IMO, Dunu S&S, Divinus Velvet, Softears Ultra Clear, AZLA Xelastec, etc- kalibri

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
Resonators are used in speakers all the time, if you see a tall speaker with a bass port, most of the time it has a resonator of a certain dimension on the inside, either to boost the bass, cut the bass or just tune it. Kiwi Ears did not invent it and KARS is just their commercial name for this...- kalibri

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
To my ears most EDM suffers from bass bloat so something like the Variations will sound great, due to that mid bass scoop. Of course, anything EQed to that profile will sound pretty nice, so try to EQ the MMK3 first to see if it would work for you. Do you have access to a PEQ? If yes, do this...- kalibri

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
Depends on the genre I guess, I MMK3 shines with live recorded instruments and not really with electronic music which generally has a lower production and instrument quality, not all but a lot of it (I would assume because synth music is a lot more accessible to create, compared to recording...- kalibri

Looks great but similar cables can be had for $30 to $50 from AE shops like Ivipq or Xinhs, they do custom orders. I have a few done with modular connectors and different wire colors. I have quite a few with different connectors, different wire thickness, etc. Apologies for the crappy photo.- kalibri
