Exactly. Details matter. Mistakes happen, but as I learned in journalism school 40 years ago, it's better to be accurate than to be first. Hard to take this reviewer seriously after that kind of mistake.

From the Once an Audiophile, Always an Audiophile Dept: I work as the director of editorial for Penske Entertainment, which owns the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I'm working this month at the Speedway for the Indianapolis 500. It's a fun job that I've done for nearly...

Me to my 95-year-old father on our daily FaceTime call: "Hey, Pop: I got another set of headphones!" Pop to 58-year-old son: "Another one? Jesus, how many do you have? Aren't they all the same?" :)

The Delci is far from peaky and sibilant, even with the crap stock tips. This dude must have treble sensitivity like a hunting hound.

Wait -- he called the Delci a planar? Instant fail. I loathe peaky headphones and IEMs, too. The Delci isn't close to peaky. The only peaky I like is one of the greatest TV series of all times -- "Peaky Blinders."

Peaky? Damn, I thought I was treble sensitive. Couldn't disagree more. OK, the Delci doesn't have the smoothness of the MagicOne or the tame, too-conservative treble roll-off of the Galileo. But peaky? Sibilant? Nope. I also don't hear amber waves of grain, either. If he thinks the Delci is...

Quick question: From your initial impressions, what does the Explorer offer if you already own the MagicOne? Is there something that really differentiates it? I'm tighter than two coats of paint, and I don't want to spend even $100 on something that sounds similar to my MagicOne.

I've only used the stock cable, but it's very nice. I have found Final Audio Type E tips to be, well, magic with the MagicOne. :)

Either you're a massive basshead or you didn't have tips with a good seal. The stock tips aren't very good. The MagicOne is very seal-dependent. If you get the seal, it has adequate bass. It never will crush your eardrums with thump, but to say there's no "real bass" is ludicrous. Narrow-bore...

+100000000000000000000 since the MagicOne is aptly named, and I'm one of the most cynical motherf*ckers on this planet about marketing terms.

Jesus H. To each their own, but I do not get the entire fascination with Japanese cartoon softcore kiddie porn. Waifu sounds like Wagyu beef on a waffle for breakfast to me.

Jay, you're a saint for putting up with the pretentious BS from those two interloper jackoffs in that thread. I like HiFiGuides -- visit it just as much as here. But those two motherf*ckers treating their opinion like it was objective gospel was ridiculous. Keep doing your thing, man!

    1. ZMF Aeolus. Yeah, it's not an IEM. But it's absolutely fantastic. Love every second I listen to it. So far, the ideal headphone to match my sonic preferences. Incredible looks and build quality, too. 2. Kefine Delci. It's stupid how enjoyable this IEM is for $60. Sub-bass-alicious, with solid...

I'm kind of banking on that, too. Listened to my MagicOne for about an hour last night and still stoked at how perfectly they match most of my preferences for just $110. A wonderful set. If Aful can blend the Performer series and MagicOne into one IEM, just take my damn money right now.

That's beautiful, dude. Your range is very, very solid. Everyone has a preferred register -- I can tell yours is higher. But you still dig deep to hit the lower notes. My singing style is similar. It's just as hard for me to sing Johnny Cash as it is Bon Scott! Reaching to hit the valleys is...

Same. I'm pretty set with my headphone sonic signature sweet spot with the Aeolus and HD 6XX. The MagicOne fits that profile for IEMs, too. Now the fun and challenge are finding a lower-buck IEM that tickles either end of my preferred signature without going over the boundary. I want something...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

The Custom Cans driver weight mod is a solid solution for more bass, too. Remove grille, snap weight on outside of driver cage, reattach grille. Works well to enhance bass. But it's about $36 USD. Not as cheap as micropore tape, but less invasive ... :)

First things first, my friend: I watched the video of your rendition of "My Way." You have a terrific, sonorous voice! Eager to hear your new cover. I'm not as smooth or suave of a front man as you. I'm the lead singer of a "Dad rock" band -- we're all in our 50s and 60s -- that plays bar gigs...

You might like Aful MagicOne. One BA, with a cool acoustic tube/chamber to enhance bass. SUPER smooth presentation. Solid note weight. Adequate treble resolution with zero fatigue or sibilance. Not the last drop of detail or extension on both ends, but effortless, smooth.

Earasers are excellent in-ear plugs for $40. They kill the high-frequency sounds while still letting you talk and other sounds not be muffled. I swear by them as a lead singer in two rock bands. Next step for me is IEMs to replace my stage monitors.
