How about deciphering the GEC 807 ATS25. Date code - N and on the glass in orange print the words - W ^ (up arrow) D ZA3496. It is said to be a 1940s WW2 tube. :relaxed:- UntilThen

The Reference Pentode and Beam Tetrode Thread EL34, KT66, KT77, KT88, EL11, EL12, EL3N, EL35, EL37, 6550, 6L6, EL51, EL39, 4654, 4699, KT63, KT61, 6V6, etc
It's been a week now since I have been using the GEC 807 ATS25. Where EL34 midrange sound a bit scooped, 807 like 6L6 midrange is front and centre. This tube sounds as good as my other vintage tubes, if not better. One of the best texture in the game. A very caressing and relaxing tone. So...- UntilThen

EL39 never fail to please and keep it in the adapters to prevent accidental dislodging of the top caps from constant capping and uncapping. Some superglue on the top cap helps too.- UntilThen

Sometime ago I say that my last tubes will be Mullard EL38 and GEC 807. :relaxed: I have them now and probably will stop. Getting 6BG6G will require another set of adapters. I have enough tubes and adapters. There will be no end. RCA 6L6GC, Brimar 6L6G, WE350B... I don't have to chase these...- UntilThen

I agree. All of them are unique but I am enjoying GEC 807 now. Don't know why it wasn't in my radar until now. The ATS25 is a lovely sounding tube. The texture is silky smooth.- UntilThen

It don't matter because I have no adapters for it. It's the 5B/254M that I'm interested in. Eventually I will have to get adapters for just one pair of 5B/254A.- UntilThen

5B/254M are in great condition. Metal base !!! :relaxed: I'm so eager to use it but the adapters are not here yet. Btw, Langrex already replied to my mail about the white getter flash and they will send a replacement. How very prompt. They will get 5 stars review from me.- UntilThen

The size of 5B/254A and 5B/254M. These tubes came sealed in the boxes. It has not been open. You can assumed no testing is done or visual inspection. Unfortunately one of the tube has turned white and the top cap is coming off. So the vacuum is probably gone. I'm going to ask Langrex for a...- UntilThen

EL84 is the baby EL34. Right after EL84, I'm listening with EL34 metal base now. This could easily have been the best of the Fab 4. :relaxed: It's a EL84 with more bass and more body. Just as I was listening, 3 pairs of tubes arrived from Langrex.- UntilThen

My thoughts exactly. GEC A2900 (12AT7) and 6P14P (EL84). I could have use my other 12AT7s - Telefunken ECC801S, Mullard 6201 PQ, Brimar CV455 Footscray, Philips E80CC and the outsider 6N23P. :relaxed: Or for a bit higher gain Raytheon 5751 Windmill, Amperex 12AX7. And from the left field...- UntilThen
