I thought current draw might be the cause but both the Cayin RU7 and DC Elite work fine and they both draw more than the Onix. It's not a major problem as it's unlikely that I will use an external Dac with my DX180. Still, it would be interesting to know the cause.

I just discovered an interesting issue with my DX180 which has been working just fine. I updated the firmware to the new version without issue and have used the 180 with SE out, balanced out, Bluetooth, LO and USB audio out with variety of DACs and dongles, all of which functioned perfectly...
