What drivers to use with Peltor ear muffs for a "diy noise-reducing headphone"?
Hello, So the subways and commuter rails in Boston are pretty noisy and for a while now I've been using these contractor ear muffs (nrr 30) over my earbuds and they do an amazing job but the earbuds are just not comfortable. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some (good & cheap)...- Fardad

IMHO my grado's are so comfortable.
I find my SR80s much more comfy than my HD600s. I can wear both for hours on end, but the SR80s are so much lighter.- Fardad

Boards of Canada is probably the most nostalgic-inducing, vintage-revitalizing music I have ever heard. -
ZERO amp: question about receiving optical at long lengths.
Hmmm.... Now I'm stuck. People are telling me that 30 ft is fine but then your answer makes sense. Guess I'll go with digital coax if I can (gotta do some more reading on the ZERO and my sources about this). Thanks for your response.- Fardad

ZERO amp: question about receiving optical at long lengths.
Would the ZERO be able to decode and error correct optical signals at lengths of 30 ft of BJC toslink? My Setup Sources (Toslink): PS3 HDTV cable box \/ 30ft of Blue Jeans Optical Cable \/ End: ZERO (possibly?) > HD600/SR80s If so, where can I find this "Lawrence" to purchase a...- Fardad

HD600 grills: paint chipping
So the one side of my grills has begun chipping exposing the grey metal. Is the paint anything special used for further sound refinement or can I just let it chip away (or perhaps sand them down completely as I don't mind the grey colour)? Thanks.- Fardad

Boxer Breeders in New England?
Does anyone know of any (good) Boxer breeders in New England. I only found one in MA, and they sell them for $995~$1100. A bit steep.- Fardad

SR80 & iPod Touch
yeah but I got the SR80s with the intention of running them unamped and on the move (a light move that is. Like a stroll through the park). Plus they sound god-awful with my Headsave classic with the dual AD8610 opamps, inbetween the Touch and the SR80s.- Fardad

Cable excess solutions? (eg. spool?)
Can anyone recommend a solution (other than buying new headphones or replacing the cable) for conveniently shortening a long headphone cable? This is particularly for my SR80s when in portable use. Its quite annoying and messy when I have to dig through a mess of wires in my pocket to get to...- Fardad

ok after a few days/weeks of listening, the bass has improved almost drastically. Very happy with these cans. So light... Wires are a bit annoying though.- Fardad

Want a free audio upgrade?
here are some other free audio upgrades: - close your eyes. - lie upside down. - take a shower before listening (seems to improve bass)- Fardad

iPod Touch Sound Quality is quite bad.
My H140 was better in bass, but Touch's overall functionality reigns supreme.- Fardad

Ah thanks! Unfortunately I have no black leather, just a bit of brown deerskin and beige lamb. But not enough to spare as I use them for elbow patches on all my sweaters pretty much!- Fardad

SR80 & iPod Touch
So my SR80s came in yesterday. While they are not as full-bodied and spacial as my HD600s in sound, they still sound pretty good out of the box (though I am letting them burn-in with some Rammstein as I type - been about 10 hours thus far). And the Touch seems to drive them just fine, but...- Fardad
