Best office headphones with LOW sound leakage? $50-$150

Hey everyone, Haven't been keeping up with headphones for a while as I'm pretty happy with my setups, but I recently bought a pair of Bose QC35's for the office and listen to stuff that most would call "weird" and have an issue with sound leakage. I have recently just been using a cheap pair of...

    Most Neutral Budget portable DAC/amp?

I don't know that there's a rolloff, it just feels like the air was sucked out of the music and replaced with bass. There hasn't been too many comparisons b/w the E17 and E07k, but on this very forum there was a review stating if you can afford it get the E17 because the E07k sounds bloated, and...

    Most Neutral Budget portable DAC/amp?

Hey guys, I have an E07k and I feel it is somewhere around ~5dB boosted in bass with a treble roll off. While fun on some headphones, its ugly on others, I wanted to trade it in for something more neutral. The E17, not E17k, in its few reviews is said to be neutral so I have high hopes for that...

The JVC HA-S680 - S400's and S500's big brother is here!

What in the world kind of burn in did you do? I think I burned mine in for ~60 hours before use and now they are about a year old, and are pretty damn bassy with a good amount of distortion. However they have a nice, wide soundstage for something so small and with EQ the sound you can get out of...

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)

On a similar budget as the Takstar, for a bass head you could get the JVC HA-S680 and JVC Xtreme Xplosives. The most technically superior bass head over ear in the price range is the CAL! Though its not "insane bass" like the others.

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

I have posted the frequency response of both in the last page. The M2's probably sound better, the M1's which I have have this irratiting mid treble sparkle, I would rather it simply be smooth as it would be even better for commutes.

Mids and bass have decent, mid-fi, level clarity something is wrong with your unit or your ears.

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

I feel like I must be going crazy, but I swear my M1's sound worse with the Remote wire than the Plain wire.   First impressions is that they do the A900x creamy mids except don't colour the headphones as much so they can be used with more genres. Though technically its bass is supposedly...

    Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

There's some ringing. So to be fair, I suppose the decay of the mid treble is pretty damn fast compared to other headphones, though I mean it still sounds boxed in, you can hear the treble bounce off the casing a little bit as it sounds a bit "metallic".   @Slaphead Very interesting stuff...

    Headphones for DJ-ing and everyday listening @ $300 -- Sennheiser HD-25 Aluminum or ...?

I don't listen to EDM, mostly punk and alt rock, so before I return mine could you refer to me some artists or songs that the HD25/Amperiors are made for, because I don't why a professional would want the highs so emphasized and mids recessed. Maybe to hear faults better in the highs?

    Havi b3 pro 1 thread 2.0

Here's a little story about the Havi B3. I Got the Havi for a hp for my commute and already have an amp, didn't like the stock signature at all but it responded very well to EQ. Not "amazingly natural" but pretty damn good for an IEM.   Sold it to get an IEM that more naturally suits my taste...

HD 380 vs Takstar Pro 80? Both have similar signatures, I would put money on the HD380 having a wider soundstage however. From the charts, both look to have similar distortion.

    Headphones for DJ-ing and everyday listening @ $300 -- Sennheiser HD-25 Aluminum or ...?

Why is this even a question. Of course the HD25 Aluminum.   You can get the Amperiors for 100 dollars refurbished, and it has lower impedance, so if you aren't using an amp to drive them, then the Amperiors are the easy buy. If you do have an amp, the HD25 Aluminum will sound better, though...

    How good are the HD380s?

I'm looking for a headphone for commutes with linear or subdued treble and enhanced bass for that very purpose, and its the 380 vs Momentum for me. I like the sound signature of the 380 more but I was wondering how good it was. I know its better than the M50 in clarity, but how about the DT770...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

For anyone wondering, after testing and looking it up, both momentums do sound differently. I think the M2's sound boring compared to the Momentum 1's.   Here are the charts:   M1: http://en.goldenears.net/19104 M2: http://ko.goldenears.net/board/5713157

    Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

Its not a theory, that's what open headphones are, they shoot sound out in all directions making it bounce around your room and then come back to your ear drum. Which is partly why they don't make the best studio monitors.   Anyway, after playing with EQ for both a demo Momentum and my...

    Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

Im saying if a treble spike happens in an open headphone, the sound is coming outside your head so its more tolerable, wheras in a closed headphone its going right into your ear drum with no where to breathe.

    Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

Like I stated previously, and this is a problem with the Amperiors, Closed headphones have a seashell effect and highs that sound airy on open headphones will kill you in closed ones. However, its easier to get higher quality bass with closed headphones for the same reason, so it really depends...

Thanks for the replies!   Hmm, how would you compare the m50x and Amperiors? Both are theoretically similar, bassy V shaped headphones with 0 soundstage. In the website I posted earlier the Momentum 1 actually sounds V shaped with a 10k spike, which coincides with some people's reviews of it...

    Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread

Hmm, I both love them and hate them for rock. They have beautifully impactful bass for meaty guitars but the mid treble spike will eat your ears out. I learned my lesson, you cannot have a closed Grado due to the seashell effect of closed headphones, highs that are nice and airy on an open...

Haha thinking of buying a pair of these straight cabled for the gym after selling my last pair. I was looking at the HD 280/380 but they only have coiled cables. I suppose I could get an M40x, I wonder how they compare to the Takstar.
