Headphones for Trance, House, Techno, Goa

Hey I got the SoundMAGIC HP100 and I gotta say these are the best phones I have tried so far regardless of price. They're fairly flat, warm, and transparent. Couldn't say that for most other phones. Much better than Beyerdynamic DT770. The DT770 have more bass but with the HP100s I could...

Headphones for Trance, House, Techno, Goa

Cool, will check out those Audio Technicas. And yes, I have a Lavry DA10, and Ecler Nuo 2 for preamps. Got no problem with the DT770 Pro 80ohms, best I've tried yet, but just want something as a second opinion.

Solid vs. Stranded: Does it matter?

Electricity flows like plasma in only one or two directions (DC or AC), so with materials like copper, silver, and gold, stranded or solid won't matter for sound. Maybe there's a minute latency effect but we're talking about such low voltages that it's impossible to hear or perhaps even measure...

Headphones for Trance, House, Techno, Goa

Thank you all. I like the frequency response of SoundMAGIC, it looks very flat. The Senns are too expensive for me right now.

Headphones for Trance, House, Techno, Goa

Hi,   Can someone recommend me headphones with enough bass for these genres?   I already have the DT770s and love them for bass and midrange, but they tend to have some major spikes and drops above 2 khz. Is there anything out there that is just a little bit less boomy under 50 hz and more...

Ultrasone Pro 900 vs. Beyerdynamic DT770 (80 Ohm) *Updated Review

I owned both and still own the DT770 80ohm version. I have yet to hear a better headphone for the money or sound, especially the bass. The Pro900 was way too sharp for me, very piercing mids to highs, clear low end but lacking a lot compared to the DT770s. When I put on the DT770s I feel like...

    Just got HFI-580s...defective???

Thanks for the post. I was really into buying the DJ1s. But screw that. I think Ultrasone sound is crap for anything other than classical and nature sounds. They're really detailed but way too hyped in the mid highs and have recessed mids (Pro 900s, sold), almost making my ears bleed even after...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

Quote: Exactly man. It's only some frequencies, mostly bassdrums but not deep bass. And for me this doesn't happen on speakers. I have Mackie HR624 and have perfectly aligned them. Never a problem there. But with headphones, it's always been a problem. And what's weird I didn't notice...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

Quote: See the thing is that I noticed this on all headphones, some more some less than others. The Technics RPDH1200 are the worst with this problem. I tested this by lifting one side and then the other and it's always the left that sounds better and has more bass. The only thing I...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

I don't understand this though. My Pro 900 are unbalanced for some reason. The sound is a little to the left. I know this because when I listen on alined speakers the sound is in the center or even to the right a little bit. Anyone got any idea why this is?

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

Quote: No you just take the old pads off and slide the leather ones on. It's a bit of a pain but once you do it you'll be happy. Currently I have found that with the new leather pads a tiny bit of bass is lost, but I still think it's worth it. It may be because of the shape of my head...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

Hello everyone. I just joined this site only to tell you how you can make your Ultrasones (and I think any other headphone) sound much better and more balanced, even after burn in, though I only have the Pro 900 and it works perfect with them. I tried the Kees mod and it was good but not as good...
