Review of Audio Technica ATH-IM01, ATH-IM02, ATH-IM03, ATH-IM04, ATH-IM50, & ATH-IM70
I wouldn't call myself the best critic of sound, but I feel that the increase in comfort using the comply tips far outweighs the unremarkable detriment to sound I experience using them. I definitely couldn't vouch for the Tsx series comply tips though. They are intended to be the 'comfort'...- zilla7777

What DAP should I get? LF >8gb, Less than 300 AUD, and needs buttons.
Well, I just lost my Ipod Nano 5th Gen 8gb whilst at the gym, and nobody has returned it; so I guess I'm on the hunt for a new DAP. That little thing served me well for years. What I am looking for is something that has over 8gb of storage, prefereably flash as I enjoy exercising with...- zilla7777

Should I look at Etymotic hf5's, or something else?
Quote: Ah I've already noticed that. When plugged intot he front audio jacks of my PC, I get insane amounts of feedback or static. With the Ipod I don't get it, but with my PC it's even at very low volumes. I may just need to invest in a decent sound card for my PC. Currently using the...- zilla7777

Should I look at Etymotic hf5's, or something else?
Quote: Ah, I had a similar issue, but wow, a day or two is a long time to mess your ears up simply from removing tips! I could imagine the pain you'd encounter with triflanges. I must admit they did a better job at removing ear wax than they did provide a comfortable listening...- zilla7777

Should I look at Etymotic hf5's, or something else?
Quote: Do you find you prefer the comply tips over the Silicones? With my UE 200's I found I had a far more comfortable and sustainable fit with comply's.- zilla7777

Should I look at Etymotic hf5's, or something else?
Quote: Hmm, I might give the cutting a try if I get the time to, but if not I might just hand them over to someone who could benefit from them. I was looking at the ear gels, but it seems that once you go to foams, it's difficult to go back. I just love foam tips too much, ahah. As for...- zilla7777

Do you prefer headphones or IEM?
Quote: I'm essentially in the same boat. Although when I'm not using IEM's I'm using my speaker setup instead of headphones. I like the portability of IEM's. I couldn't imagine using a giant set of cans whilst out and about. For that reason, I haven't really bothered to get over-ear...- zilla7777

Should I look at Etymotic hf5's, or something else?
I can definitely see myself getting a good few years out of these, hoping they survive. It's amazing not even being able to hear myself type with no music playing.- zilla7777

Need help on cheap but good IEM/Earphones
Although they aren't my favourite; For that price range I quite enjoyed my UE 200's for about a year using comply tips. I picked mine up for 30 dollars. Even though they aren't absolutely stellar sound, you'd probably be happy with them for the price. I was. They are also pretty durable as well...- zilla7777

Should I look at Etymotic hf5's, or something else?
So the hf5's arrived today, and my first impressions were pretty varied. First thing I did was attempt to get a good seal with the triflanges that came already fitted; bad idea. Whilst I did get a decent seal for a while, it was terrible comfort wise in my opinion. They even went as far as...- zilla7777

Explain your avatar
My Avatar is clearly to show people my artistic prowess. It is a portrait of me. I must say I depicted my luscious locks of hair pretty well if I may say so myself.- zilla7777

Should I look at Etymotic hf5's, or something else?
Ah well that sounds promising, I'm glad to hear! I'm kind of hoping they will be reminiscent of the Energy ESM bookshelf speakers I have comparing them to the Bose sound dock the family uses in the kitchen. Both have clarity and I'll admit sound good in their own right; but Energy's have far...- zilla7777
