I bought the 77x's today and will swap pads and give them to my cousin, which will be an introduction to bass for my 19 year young cousin.  I think I actually might get me some 77x's for the fun of it.  Do you think there will ever be harder hitting headphones than the 2k's?  Give how you guys...

I have the e12 through pc, but I don't know what I'm doing with the eq either.  The bass will distort before it's too much for me, and I've never listened to bass up close outside of these headphones.  I also have sensitive hears, so I have a ways to go before I'll know what these things can...

From what I read on the thread is that it can produce so much bass you'd stop before the SZ2000's will.  I also see people claiming that they will rattle off your head, but there's no way I see that happening.     I know for a fact that I'm not getting what you guys are getting, but I wasn't...

I'm probably going to be wrong, but I assume the 77x's level of base is near the same level as the SZ2000's, but the SZ2000's are better as a whole.  Does hip hop include dub/trapstep?

How do the HAMR77x's compare to the SZ2000's?     I'm going to buy a pair of JVC's for the pads and give them to my cousin with the stock sz2000's on them.    JVC HAMR60x JVC HAMR77x JVC HARX700   Are the pads on those the same as the ones I'd want on the SZ2000's.  Of the ones that will...

I suppose that's where my ignorance hurts a lot.  I'm going to get it eventually.  What is gain throttling?      

Just tried paper test again and produced a very small ripple in one corner before it started distorting.  I have stock pads so perhaps that's why it doesn't move paper.   

The way I have mine setup, which I'm an amateur, is that after about 45% volume on the e12 it distorts and it's still NOT so loud that I can't handle it.  I figured when it distorts like that, eventually it will blow.  

That's what I thought might be the case.  I ordered a pair of replacements on ebay today and later realized they didn't look anything like the ones that come with HA-M55x's.  I don't know if I even should as I have this feeling I'll end up blowing this phones.
