75$ for headphones that originally went for almost 10 times that price? If you've never heard biodynamics before you'll have your best introduction to sub-bass yet. Absolute steal for 75$ I think you misunderstood me - I've been running Nighthawk Carbons since December! I absolutely love them...- vodkadebugger

Those are Flows, I can only get 2's. That aside I've been sniffing around and have almost set my sights solely one Campfire Cascades. They seem to be an interesting yet valid choice for...my tastes- vodkadebugger

I am completely fine with Audeze tho (ear shaped holes in pads) I will check the Aeons. Seems like I've struck unlucky gold with the Hawks - I love them to death, but wish they were just that tiny bit better. I got them for under 300€ too, new. Best audio bargain in my life To reference how...- vodkadebugger

Thank you for your input! I already have HD600 (and 560S), I really dislike the 650, tho - their sound just didn't do it for me. Sennheiser really are incapable of producing the bass I want - the 600 has been collecting dust for months now. It's definitely a smidge more detailed and has better...- vodkadebugger

I have NHCs driven by a Zen Can with XBass and an EQ curve that gives them even more bass and hotter upper regions (1-6kHz). I do love my Nighthawks oh so very much but I'm thinking about upgrading, so my question to all out here - is the TH900 a valid step-up?- vodkadebugger

The NightHawk smell to me was quite strange (I disliked it at first, always washing my hair before sleep, it dissipated after 4-5 days tho). It grows on you, tho- vodkadebugger

I'd go for mint Carbons because I'm paranoid about those rubber bands- vodkadebugger

Definitely EQ as the others have mentioned. The combination of very low distortion and ridiculous power handling make these cans extremely EQ friendly.- vodkadebugger

Interesting! Maybe the pair I heard was defective because they sounded outright claustrophobic to me.- vodkadebugger

I wouldn't call the NHs very narrow. I'd call the HE1000SEs that. Nighthawks are considerably wider than those and they're also wider than HD600s (which I would also not consider "very narrow").- vodkadebugger

And what a capable driver it is! I'd take these over the LCD-3 and HE1000SE. I just can't get over how they do soundstage, imaging, separation completely undisturbed by my insane bass boost. I've heard 3.5k€ headphones lose microdetails at lower volumes than these. These are insanely capable...- vodkadebugger

Are you a console or PC gamer?
PC gamer. Sure I miss out on some exclusives, but I have a 144Hz screen being driven by a 3060Ti (ray tracing is the future) backed by a 5600X. I prefer mouse and keyboard for anything that isn't a JRPG, and I have a G920 for racing games. I'd get a Switch tho- vodkadebugger

The bass is "full bodied" without EQ but I wouldn't call it powerful. But, alas, each has their own preference to bass, I just happen to be a complete bass addict. These with EQ are simply the first hifi headphones I'd label "basshead certified". Head shaking, brain shattering bass without any...- vodkadebugger

I give my NHCs a very weird EQ curve. I'm an insane basshead, so I boosted the subbass regions, took away some dB between 200 and 500ish Hz, and gave a boost to 1-3kHz (make it closer in line with the HD600). These headphones EQ great, and to my ear, they sound absolutely sublime (they seem a...- vodkadebugger

Need advice on new purchase (500€)
I guess I could retract my statement on cold, but by analytical I meant ability to pick out microdetails in music, with which thus far the NHC's have only impressed me. But regarding bass and soundstage, imaging and separation, so far these have proven to be amazing- vodkadebugger
