    Help! Rockbox kills iPod battery

Explain to me, once more, why it is necessary to create and sync several different libraries when I could carry said libraries on one device, all at once, and not bother with syncing? Regardless, it doesn't matter how much i have or what it is when all I get is seconds of menu-browsing before...

    Help! Rockbox kills iPod battery

I don't know what bitrate my FLAC files are in, but this seems to be related to menu browsing, mostly. Last night I listened to all of "Glenn Gould, The Goldberg Variations" without a hitch, once I decided to put on another album it crashed, again showing battery at >50%

    Help! Rockbox kills iPod battery

As I said, this happens with nothing playing. typically it crashes before I can find a song to play.

    Help! Rockbox kills iPod battery

Thanks for the replies everyone, I'll be sure to ask around on the RB site. I have reinstalled RB several times, with no change. I should  point out that when I say it shuts off after a short while I mean less than 2 minutes, even with nothing playing.    Just earlier I listened for a few...

Which albums sound best with your Grado?

I'm a huge Dire Straits fan, and since I got my Grados I'm going back to them more and more to listen. I think they may be once of the most nuanced rock bands, and most of their albums are recorded amazingly well. I especially love their eponymous first album "Dire Straits,' but "Making Movies"...

    Help! Rockbox kills iPod battery

Well last night I queued up a ton of music in apple mode and this thing played through it no problem. at least 6 hours of music, I'm not sure cause I just left it playing in the living room while i slept. it turned off once the music was over, but there's still battery left.    So to recap...

    Help! Rockbox kills iPod battery

Ok, I just let it charge a while, plugged in, and listened to a whole album. Once it was finished, I looked at the player and it had about 90% battery left (guessing from graphical indicator). I started playing around with the settings, with no music playing, and after a minute or two it shut...

    Help! Rockbox kills iPod battery

That's what I was afraid of, but I was curious about why the battery didnt show any change until after the thing crapped out. Rockbox displays battery information based on the actual condition of the battery, not a timer or something.   Anyway, if this is the case, where is a good source for...

    Help! Rockbox kills iPod battery

I finally bought a 5.5g iPod and I'm having a problem with battery life.   once it's charged it reads that the battery is fully charged but it only lasts a short time. it will continue to read "full" for a few minutes, then it will shut off without warning, and without changing the battery...

    coffee gadgets...

I started going to a coffeehouse in Portland and getting coffee made with this ugly little SOB http://www.amazon.com/ABID-CO-LTD-C-70888-Dripper/dp/B0047W70GY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292565047&sr=8-1 I like using my pour-over at home. It's quick, and simple to use and clean, though hard to...

    Christmas treat for myself

So, my Christmas bonus this year was a bit more generous than I expected, and I've decided to finally get that DAP I've been wanting. I'll be picking up some RE0's, and I'm looking at either RBing an 80gb 5.5g iPod, getting a 16GB Cowon D2 (later adding storage), or maybe going the...

    seeking good in-ear advice

Hello all!   I've decided to buy some "Stick-It-In-Your-Ear" type earphones. I have only a few criteria:        They'll need to be sound isolating. I'll be wearing them at work where there is a lot of noise throughout the day, though for the most part nothing extreme. I'll pop in real...
