If it is not too late: I also ad700s. Depends on what you are going to listen and where. Closed back vs open, portable vs not, warm vs cold(ish). AD700 has more detail, they are more resolving, but they are a bit boring.CAL! is quite a fun hp with deep bass. A happy compromise between those two...- utkusu

The IEM/Portable Headphones Deal Alerts Thread - Closed! Use the Deals Thread III instead.
Quote: Quote: yeah prices are definitely "more than full" ones. But some of the deals are still decent, assuming that you can find someone to get it with- at least for Canada. S4- 60 bucks, HD558s 125 etc.- utkusu

Am I listening to Hi-Fi yet?
if you are on a budget, don't worry about the amp. Go to ClieOS' list (inearmatters) or joker's thread here. Set your budget, find the a couple of alternatives that has a good value rating in your budget. Then read about their sound signature and other details. then decide. I would not go...- utkusu

Review: Fischer Audio FA-003 - a neutral champ!
Quote: As a newbie, FA-003 made me notice and care about recording and mastering quality. I am not sure this is a good thing or not :) they made me start listening to Diana Krall and Dave Matthews Band and whatever else I see as cited as good quality recordings at Head-fi, just because...- utkusu

NOoooo STOP! :) I don't know AD900 but I have AD700s, but AD700s are not good (not bad either) for metal. Too distant sounding, grainy mids and treble. Whenever I listened to Agalloch with themm there is something wrong. I can't put it with technical terms but they create too much chaos, I...- utkusu

I keep reading M-50s are not good for hard rock, that is why I keep away from them. How about HD25s? I remember joker writing they are not very forgiving with sibilant recordings, though. I have experience with limited number iems and headphones, but out of the stuff I have/tried...- utkusu

IEM Beginner
Try Joker's Multi-iem shootout. You can do quite well under 150, probably much better than ADDIEMs. You also need what kinda sound signature you want.- utkusu

RE0 potential and uDAC
Thanks. I do hear an improvement with uDAC, but I am trying to gauge the benefit of a better amp. I guess I need someone who heard RE0s both with uDAC and a better amp to chime in. cheers,- utkusu

RE0 potential and uDAC
Hi, I have recently picked RE0s after thinking about them the last two years :) I was expecting to be impressed but not this much! I had xcapes v1 and still have FA-003s and I thought I am used to upper mid-fi audio by now, but RE0s thoroughly impressed me. (If my memory serves me right, I...- utkusu
