I have not bought a new DAP in a long time, and with putting my Ipod Nano 6g through the washer and dryer after the gym yesterday I think its a good time, also I hated that ipod with a passion.   Ive been looking at the sandisk's line (clips zips and fuzes). Ive also looked into modding an...

    Recable disaster

Yeah you can just strip the cut ends and solder them to the drivers. How competent are you with a soldering iron?   Edit: be sure to add some strain relief before you put it all back together!   Quote:

    Hakko or xytronic?

Quote:   Cant say I've ever used a xytronic. The typical entry stations I've used and seen are hakko/weller/aoyue. For general through hole soldering, some smd work and cable making, my hakko 936 (old version of the new Hakko fx888) is used almost exclusively.  I have 2 wands and a...

    Hakko or xytronic?

I have not used the xytronic, but I have used my 936 for 3 years now. Its seen a lot of use and hasn't let me down. The new 888 uses the same wands and therefore the same tips as the 936, which are both really cheap.

    LF DIY Tube Amp suggestions

Im really digging the reviews on the Bijou. Anyone know if its possible to use a different power supply with the bijou, such as the sigma 11, as i was planing to build a separate power supply for the sake of being modular.

source for panel mount 5 pin mini xlr

Im recabling my razor head set after destroying yet another and im sick of getting it replaced by warranty because of bad strain relief, only to have it fail again.   Ive never had a headset where the inline mute/volume control has failed due to strain. After i removed the inline controls a...
