Time for something new, Senn or UE 900s
this is my follow up. I ended up with the UE 900s and the B&W P5s at the end. Perfect, no. best case for me though. (Note: I was able to sell TF10 and Etys so I had a little extra funding). UE 900 needs Comply-bought tips (the longer ones), I had some, they fit, still...- ucrime

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II
Quote: I have the 50s, I had a friend compare them as I did on an iPad... Beats were better without an amp, and I am far from a Beats fanboy. 50s can't get the volume up enough to show how good they are. I wanted to be the one who said, look, Beats cannot compare, but they were better on...- ucrime

Open vs. Closed headphones (a moved question from my original thread)
My only experience of ownership going open is with Grado 60s, I bought them from the store on the block that the restaurant the 'coffee shop' was located, and opened them up with a friend at an outside table. These were the first top headphones I could afford (it was the 1980s) and I remember...- ucrime

Is there a place I could try out the HD600 in NYC?
not the HD-600s, but Stereo Exchange on Broadway near where the old Tower Records was, has the HD-800s in a display case as you walk past the cashiers area (top shelf, small glass case). I was going to ask to try them on, but after 10-15 minutes of not being able to the attention of a...- ucrime

why don't headphone match music as created
Quote: GREQ, I do have thoughts on this. I've been to some very nice restaurants in NYC (almost all the ones considered top tier except for Per Se (I haven't been to Per Se (edit)), and one thing myself and my buddies would look at was the glass that the wine was served in. Many...- ucrime

Thank you everyone. Before I begin, I would like to thank everyone for not turning this thread into a 'troll thread' but actually taking the time and effort to explain. I have to say, my knowledge is not on par with anyone who posted above me, and some technical terms have gone a little...- ucrime

why don't headphone match music as created
before bed, my 'dumb' question came to mind also. If closed headphones cannot create the true sound the artist wanted. If open headphones can (I am sure the source of the sound has something to do in this) Why headphones? Why not speakers? To me, privacy is key for headphones...- ucrime

why don't headphone match music as created
thank you TSU. I understand now that soundstage should be open to give proper sound. I'm personally limited as I don't want to leak my sound to others. From your message, I think you mean that an open headphone will give true sound. So, what would have amp do to correct closed...- ucrime

why don't headphone match music as created
Quote: Billson, thank you. I do have questions but because I have a habit of a wall of text I will be short. if not everyone likes a flat sound, and the flat sound is what the artist created, are not the headphones creating a sound that the artist did not create. Maybe it is making...- ucrime

thank you 2enty3 for the effort. I lurk a lot, and I get the feeling most of what is posted are ads. Some very good ads, but all with an agenda. You can see from my prior posts that I have tried, but every head-ear phone I have has failed me to 'rock my world' then I thought, it...- ucrime

I've watched 20 posts (edit) be responded to and the people who read this post did not respond. Did I not post something creditable or worthy (probably) or did I not explain correctly what I mean (probably)? Headphones should match watch was created by the artist, nothing more, so what...- ucrime
