Best Soundstage? Headphones for Gaming :)

Keep in mind the GX-400's are actually just Ety ER4P's but with a mic, volume, clip & mute on the cable. So these are very well known and highly recommended IEM's for music also. I haven't compared to ADH700s for gaming but I prefer the IEM's over my Beyer DT880's when playing comp. For pub \...

Very happy with purchase, wish they were available locally so I wasn't so worried about breaking them (they're so small!)

Shike can you provide any feedback on your experience in comparing the two? What games? Which Xfi-CMSS3D card were you comparing to? etc.

Best Method to Simulate Surround Sound on Headphones

I was only referring to it's gaming performance, nothing competes with CMSS3D in games. Again to reiterate, it doesn't produce great quality when enabled, it gives amazing pin point accuracy when trying to position footsteps, pins, gun fire etc.

AFAIK only creative sound cards are capable of it, the Auzentech XFI cards are still the best quality option.

CMSS3D for movies!!!?? It makes anything sound horrible. Yes it's good for games but not because of quality, just better positioning. Listen to some music and turn it off and on a few times, if you can't notice a dramatic drop in quality then there's something wrong in between your headphones

Dolby Headphone appears to only be good with some headphones \ setups. Personally I never use it and when listening to blurays just use crossfeed on my amp.

Best Components /w Senn Hd595 PURELY for Gaming

IMHO no amp required for those cans. Settings you NEED: Game Mode: CMSS 3D - ON Speaker Configuration - HEADPHONES (optimize speaker output for headphones) Crystalizer - ON (especially for Senns - try it at 50% but you may need it higher to make out footsteps properly) Next...

    stock vista sound... or no?

Unless you have 'allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' and 'give exclusive mode applications priority' UNTICKED, I don't think you will notice a difference. If you can I'd like to know what you're using, sound card\cpu\ram\player\file type\bitrate. Auzentech Prelude...
