@krysto. haven't hard 601 yet but am very suspicious of warm sound and roll off. thank for your observations as they do suggest i may be right to worry. I did have a qls qa350 which I bought as upgrade  of the cowon i9 i used to have. this thing sounds in the same vein as the cowon  but so much...

I bought a qa350 before I had heard of the hifi man players. To my ears it's the best DAP I'v ever heard by far. unfortunately I managed to destroy it and now I'm torn between buying a qa350 mod2 or hm601. I know the 350 and love the dynamics and vibrancy. I've got no idea what the hm601 sounds...

no i haven't heard of this what can you catch? my experience with the bringing your own tips is that they won't do this either. however shops do exist that let you do it which bring into question the whole hygiene argument if you ask me.
