The amp has more than adequate power (500W into 4 Ohms) and is audibly transparent (does not add any rich harmonics of a pleasing amp). Have you done a back to back with the two headphones using the same kit/cabling etc?

Did you A/B them both on the same chain including cables to determine whether they sound very different? Audio memory is quite fickle?:)
