Generally random tracks, but there are some bands/artists that do a really nice job telling a story such that the whole album is greater than the sum of its parts (e.g. BTBAM - The Parallax II, Fleshgod Apocalypse - Agony.)

More on the prog metal side than prog rock, but cannot recommend BTBAM enough.

1990 sound pristine

I found the Andromedas to sound close to what I'm looking for but too uncomfortable to wear. What other universals would you recommend?

Any recommendations? I've trialed the 800S, which seem to be known for detail retrieval, and found them poor in this regard.

This looks to be in the right direction but I was hoping to go with customs.
