I have Usher Floorstanding speakers (http://www.audioreview.com/cat/speakers/floorstanding-speakers/usher/x-929/prd_327543_1594crx.aspx) Yes I can bi-amp them but other things involved, most annoying is mismatch of wattage. While 500MBs drive lows with 1k@4ohm (my speakers have 4ohm) highs...

Due to huge power of CAD 500MBs (500watts@8ohm/1k@4ohm) very sensetive with Preamps, mostly passive amps like "Placette" preferred. With SLI-80s preamp output soondstage was still nice and 500MBs famous dynamic authority still there ...A nice hybrid flavor I did get...However my speakers somehow...

Thank you ardilla..I have tried this preamp function with my CAD 500 MBs and it was quite intresting..  I should admit sole SLI-80 flavors differently...

Thank you armillary.Have another question; is the sub-output also functions as Pre Amp out with no problem, in other words any certain frequencies cut off, eg just below 40-50hz etc driven?
