The Inaugural ZMFestivus 2018: Chicago 12/9/18

Wish I could come! Love Chicago. Invite everyone to hit one of the various climbing gyms afterwards! Big scene there, very fun. First ascent Humboldt Park or the Brooklyn boulders location are pretty close :p

    DAC/AMP for Sennheiser HD650

But specifically for HD650, Monoprice is probably best option.

    DAC/AMP for Sennheiser HD650

Nix the e10k unless you really care about the bass boost feature. Monoprice has more powerful amp and will drive 650's the best out of these; however it is primarily suited for high impedance dynamics such as the 650's. If you look to pick up more cans in the future it may not be the best fit...

Hi, I wanted to sell some headphones.

No problem, I was searching for the same kind of answer just a few days ago in relation to posting seller feedback. I hadn't come across any clear explanation on my own.

Really? Seriously? Out of all the places, you chose a site DEDICATED TO HEADPHONES AS YOUR SPAMMING PLATFORM?!

I think that there are still some issues with the spam filtering that are left over from the site overhaul. They are still working out the kinks, but I'm sure Jude and the team are trying their best to make everything run as smoothly as possible.

Hi, I wanted to sell some headphones.

In order to make a post in the buy/sell forums your account needs to be at least 30 days old, and you need to have a post count of 15+. You can buy things and comment on posts there prior to that though.

    Which tube amp for HD650?

If you have some experience with soldering and DIY projects, I've heard good things about the performance of some of Pete Millet's amp designs (thus the name Millet amp + variations). Specifically the "starving student" (http://www.pmillett.com/starving.htm), and a variation on Millet MAX hybrid...

Am I just not cut out to be an audiophile?

I'd give it some time. What I have found is that your ear changes with continued listening, and becomes much more accustomed to picking out differences and details. Your preferences for sound signature will change as well, after listenining to more and more gear (or at least it has for me!)...

    Sennheiser HD600 or HD650 ?

Interesting, I'll have to try it out. Those pads would certainly be a more durable/cheaper replacement.

    Sennheiser HD600 or HD650 ?

Are the only noticeable changes with that pad swap in that region of high mids/treble? Or is the flavour of instruments other than high percussion changed as well.

    Sennheiser HD600 or HD650 ?

I have HD650's and enjoy them very much. Ideally you would be able to trial both the 650's and 600's before making the decision, but that is hard to do. I wasn't able to either, and just took the dive on 650's based off of recommendations from people i know. I still aim to try the 600's at some...

    New Member Introductions thread

Fairly new to the hobby, figured this is a solid place to pick up a thing or two and bounce thoughts off those with more experience. Also, classifieds and access to equipment at a price point I can stomach goes a long way for exposure to different gear. So yeah. hi.

    Audeze LCD series Fazor dates

Hi, I've done some rummaging around the interwebs and can't for the life of me find a way to distinguish models of the Audeze LCD line up, in regard to Fazor vs. non/pre-Fazor, using manufacturing dates. Seems to me that it would be a useful reference. Is anyone aware of the chronology of...
