I seem to use the wrong words, better is indeed subjective, but to me the DT990s feel shallow, where I expect a strong deep bass I get the sound of a a stick hitting a tin can. even with the EQ they still feel kinda weak compare to the highs and the mids.

That's the thing, the DT990s were regarded as "skull crushing bass" or "bass heavy" etc... So far the only thing i notice the highs(even a bit too much of em). I had to go to my EQ to get the wanted results (lows elevated and highs dropped).   I'll leave em running for today for a few hours...

So I've got the schiit stack M2&M2 paired with the DT990s 600ohm.   I must say I am very disappointed. Coming from a closed headphone, it feels like there is NO bass whatsoever. Am I gonna get any better bass from them after a so called "burn in period"? or should I just return them?
