You don't need any kind of engineering degree to see a spectrum chart and go WOW or YIKES beyond understanding things about the peaks, especially in the treble, and how your ears perceive them. So everybody here is an audio engineer now? This thread gets cuter by the day. On July 15, 2009, in...- swarthy

Seriously, have ANY of you attended a Metal concert in your little tiny lives? Bull. I mean REALLY? This is beyond a joke. Rock concerts are routinely in the 120dB range. Led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker" is said to have reached 130 dB (SPL) observed by a team of participants at the American...- swarthy

I don't think they honestly go quite that loud I am just estimating but they sure as hell go loud and I have tried many headphones. Anyway, at some point bass will dump these speakers as well. Doesn't mean you cannot bring them to that point to see what they are worth. As long as the amp is...- swarthy

I listen at those volumes trying to find a suitable EQ for ****ty compressed music. I do it in doses under a minute but thank you. And it's quite obvious too many people here do not attend live concerts. I take breaks at those in case you are wondering. But yeah thanks.- swarthy

That is because they are not forward they have PEAKS when pushed to max, e.g. 125dB, that are beyond annoying. And if you are pushing those with a bad amp they only get worse when driven hard. No idea who could hate these headphones, unless with fit, much less give out ideas on phones that have...- swarthy

Always wanted to hear the high-end grado's. Also, I don't really think these are too forward in the treble but I know what you mean if you are used to the Grado's I have heard I guess. I think that sparkle needs a bit of forward treble and live music is always loud and clear in that area. But I...- swarthy

LOL. I am listening to mine right now. What should we try out tonight from all those torrent feeds? A little Miles Davis or some of these Robert Plant solo albums I have never heard. Hmmmmm....- swarthy

It does depend on what you listen to. I mean, I cannot say I was WOWed by the DTs because my car setup is over 5K and trounces a lot of midfi home systems. But I have come to love them in many ways because they are the closest a 300 dollar pair has come to my car and of course they are way more...- swarthy

[review/comparison] Beyerdynamic DT1350, T50p, Sennheiser HD25-1-ii, HD25-13-ii, Pioneer HDJ-2000, V-Moda M80, Aiaiai TMA-1
I don't think the HD 25s compete with the DT1350s in any way possible in audiophile sound. If you are just looking for deep thumpy bass and something to play beats and electronic with then maybe. I have already voiced my concerns here but the DT1350s take power to drive and have tremendous and...- swarthy

Oh, you mean the objectivity that comes from looking at charts made by a forumite and saying wow these headphones are awful? I have been an exclusive IEM buyer for the past 10 years I know exactly what I am talking about. More like the fanboys cannot stand me talking about their precious...- swarthy

The IEM market. I have heard that one before. I used to buy any IEM out there under 300 dollars, a couple over that if we are talking MSRP, and have just about used them all though nothing released in the last year for clarity's sake. All of them are not even on the same level as the Moda's imo...- swarthy

That would be cute. An alias. On the forums. Also, funny how this works two ways and I think that people come here with an axe to grind on these headphones. As Purrin said, my work here gentlemen is purely business. I have a company to watch after.:deadhorse:- swarthy

"despite the M80 being less clear sounding than the DT1350, because of the strong priority I place on a tamed-down more well behaved treble." Okay, we are way off base here. So you like an awful rubbish treble is what you are saying? Yet who were the people attacking me for EQ'ing the treble in...- swarthy
