I just played a match of BF1 and that really reveals the difference in dynamics. The DT1770 is really a perfect gaming headphone. The explosions are a lot more fierce and footsteps seem to be audible a bit better. A real pity it has that peak around 500Hz.

Maybe you could use a workaround by recording the output via something with noisecancelation like Teamspeak? If I remember right, you had a test mode in it's options, where you hear yourself talk. If you leave that on overnight and record the stereo-mix it might work. Some onboard soundcard...

You could also have a look at Logitech UE6000, they used to be in that pricerange, but can be bought really cheap now (around 60€). They got some quite good reviews, although the noise cancelling feature degrades the sound a bit when turning it on.
