Headphones with best soundstage + a
Planning to run it on a Fiio Q7. Electronics for 'best soundstage'? Sure the gear helps, but it's not gonna make every headphone a HD800. Receiver is the most important part- Stewardess2

Headphones with best soundstage + a
Actually already have a Atrium and looking for a can to complement it, so something that sounds larger/brighter than an Atrium would be what I'm looking for. So far the HE1000V2 (non-stealth) turned out to be the best match, compromising some drivability. But I haven't listened to them yet so...- Stewardess2

I wouldn't call the bass of the 6XX 'decent', having a sub-bass rolloff- Stewardess2

Headphones with best soundstage + a
Looking for headphones with a large soundstage PLUS: - not bright or shrill sounding - decent bass - not terribly hard to drive Not considering price at this point, because finding a can that fits those criteria is hard to begin with. So far the best match in my search were Hifiman Arya or...- Stewardess2

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Well I haven't heard any direct comparison, but the Ananda is said to be less bright than HE560 and the Arya has more refined treble than Ananda so I figured Arya also has less treble than the 560- Stewardess2

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Any suggestions for Arya or He1000se as HE560 upgrade? I know both of them will have much less treble than 560, how much less would be the question. I don't want anything laid back, as I have the Aeon flow open for that. Neutral - slightly brighter than neutral would be preferred. I hear mixed...- Stewardess2

That's what reviewers are paid for, to make reviews that use vaguely positive expressions so that everyone can agree on them. The reason I only read the comparison part of reviews- Stewardess2

Help finding a good portable headphone
Thanks for all the suggestions. Been searching further and on the way I found out about the Thinksound On2, had a listen and bought it. Mids are a little leaner than on the HD569, but other than that sound is very well balanced with punchy bass and extended smooth highs, which is something hard...- Stewardess2

Help finding a good portable headphone
Tried out the MDR-1AM2, Crossfade 2 Wireless and QC35 today. All three had really good sound, thanks for the recommendations. Especially the crossfade 2 wireless was the best among them, although bass was just on the brink of too much. V-moda products have really interesting bass, visceral up...- Stewardess2

Help finding a good portable headphone
I need a headphone for listening outdoors, mainly in open spaces such as the subway or cafes. Apparently would need to be closed-back, foldable if over-ear, small size if on-ear. Tried out a bunch of headphones today, and I found the Sennheiser HD569 to best suit my preferences in terms of...- Stewardess2

Hifiman Ananda
Great, new headphones again. https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/hifiman-launches-arya-limited-edition-he5se-jade-ii-electrostatic-headphone-system-and Hifiman really likes to renew their entire line, don't they eh The Arya is said to have same drivers as HEK and costs $1,500. I'm willing to...- Stewardess2

Hifiman Ananda
Good to hear, more and more reviews seem to say the ananda is definitely softer in the treble than he-560 The one thing I couldnt stand with the 560 was sibilance in the vocals. Almost all tracks with vocals I heard sibilance. Other than that though I really enjoyed it with virtually any...- Stewardess2

That's good news, as I'm a HE560 owner and looking to buy the Ananda. Does the ananda sound bright with some recordings? eg sibilance with certain vocals- Stewardess2
