Portable DAC Under $500 CAD
Hello, I'm looking for a portable DAC under $500 for my Shure SE535s. I searched this subforum but couldn't find anything that recent. I'll mainly be using my Android phone's Tidal app (Xiaomi Mi Mix 2), a windows desktop, and my iBasso DX50. I've been looking at the Chord Mojo which is above...- StevenF19

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
Thanks, that's not ideal but I can live with a combination of that and the desktop app (as well as my locally stored music) if the Mojo sounds as good as everyone says it does.- StevenF19

Does USB Player Pro have Tidal built into the app then? How is the interface? Also, how would the sound quality compare between a Mojo and an iBasso DX150?- StevenF19

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
Is it true that you can't use the Chord Mojo with Tidal (or other streaming services) on Android phones? I'm mainly getting this to listen to music at work and can install Tidal on my PC if necessary but it's a bit of a pain. Is the sound quality really that good that it's worth this...- StevenF19

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.
Firmware is up to date. It's pretty much impossible to listen to MQA streams without it freezing up. Regular FLAC streams are also extremely hit and miss. Not only does the stream freeze, usually the entire device becomes unresponsive.- StevenF19

What is wrong with the wifi chip in this thing? MQA and even some FLAC files on Tidal are unlistenable because of the constant buffering and skipping. Do I have a faulty unit or did they really pick the worst wifi chip they could find despite advertising this as an internet streaming DAP?- StevenF19

Just got mine in the mail. Is there a way to search for an artist in Tidal and display all their albums? Right now it's a pain having to search for the album name specifically.- StevenF19

DX50 Bug List, Wish List Fix
Thanks but I was experiencing "pops" in the music rather than the music fading in and out. I managed to fix it on both devices by formatting the SD cards to FAT32.- StevenF19

DX50 Bug List, Wish List Fix
I purchased 2 of these and both seem to have a problem where the song will skip or pop multiple times during a song. This happens on both devices and I have tried using different headphones and different filetypes. Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?- StevenF19

The E09K would hurt my ears past 50 (using 600ohm headphones) so around $100. The Vali sounds much better though and I had tons of issues with the E09K/E17.- StevenF19

Around 75-80%. The FIIO E09K used to get to the same volume at 50% though.- StevenF19

Just got my Vali+Modi and they sound amazing. Much better than the FIIO combo that I returned (although the FIIOs were faulty so it could have possibly affected the sound).- StevenF19

Thanks but my Vali+Modi should arrive tomorrow and I've heard that it's a better combo for the DT 880 anyways.- StevenF19

Just ordered the Vali+Modi combo. Returning the FIIO E09K+E17 because I've had nothing but problems with them.- StevenF19
