Replace Fostex 1/4" plug with D2000 1/8" plug?
Can these plugs be disassembled and replaced? I have a new Foxtex cable and an old D2000 cable, and I'd like a 1/8" plug on the Fostex cable. Can't tell if these are press-fit or threaded.- steel_3d

Buying the Fostex thx00
Are any of these thx00's similar in sound signature to d2000, with ample bass? To add my input on the SZ2000: they got bass alright. But I don't like anything else about them. Even as a bass head, they sound way too muffled. The highs are so recessed, instruments don't even sound like they...- steel_3d

Inexpensive DAC or AMP+DAC for JVC SZ2000?
I can come up with decent amps between $50 and $100 with enough juice to drive these (around 800mW@32Ohm), so that's less of an issue. I'll be listening at comfortable medium volumes most of the time anyway. What I need is a good, inexpensive DAC that will not roll off the sub bass frequencies...- steel_3d

Super fi 5EB alternatives?
I enjoy the TDK eb900. Very similar sound signature to the UE 5 EB. I was testing them back to back, my wife's TDK vs my UE, and I could barely discern a difference. Note, I'm not really an audiophile, but I am a basshead. Listen to a lot of trance, but also rock and everything else. The TDK...- steel_3d

USB headphone AMP with Android Phones, possible ???
If an unpowered hub works, does that mean a straight usb cable might work as well? Of course I can't find such a cable, but it should be possible... I have a Galaxy as well, and the amp in it is atrocious, especially on the low end. I'd love to be able to use my fiio e7 in dac mode.- steel_3d

Denon D2000 vs DN-HP1000 - basshead review
Did Denon change the d2000 cable recently?? This thing's 5mm thick and about as pliable as a garden hose under pressure- steel_3d

Denon D2000 vs DN-HP1000 - basshead review
The only experience I've had with the 770 was at the Guitar Center on a completely different occasion, that's why I said I can't compare much. The only thing I remember sonically is the sibilance- steel_3d

Denon D2000 vs DN-HP1000 - basshead review
Just thought I'd throw this out for the bassheads out there. Disclaimer, I'm not a real audiophile, maybe I don't know anything. I got the hp1000 dj phones first. Pretty cheap, and the bass measures up to the hype. They'll really give you that headshaking bass at painful volumes. Only reason...- steel_3d

Basshead: Denon D5000 vs. D2000?
Why do you guys say that the cmoyBB is not a good enough amp? I did notice that it can't drive worth **** from less than a 12v power source, but with my new 18v adapter I haven't overloaded it yet, and I still have 6 volts of headroom if I really need it before it blows Are you sure you're not...- steel_3d

Basshead: Denon D5000 vs. D2000?
So the answer to 1) is "not really", and 2) is a "yes" if I crank up the bass on the eq? These answers would lead me to grab the d2000.- steel_3d

Basshead: Denon D5000 vs. D2000?
Thanks for the info guys. Some good info in there. Let me see if I can get a bit more specific with my questions. 1) Do darths have MORE bass than stock 770's? 2) Can the d2000 put out as much bass as a 770 with enough eq-ing, even at relatively high volumes? I know its response curve is...- steel_3d
