Someone recommend me a DAC for use with my PC and PPA!
I'm looking for a good price/performance ratio and nothing over $500 (please! I need to pay for college and my budget has a way of creeping upwards when buying audio gear) , cheaper is prefered. I built my PPA and can probably build a DAC as long as I can get the PCB already made. I would also...- SSSSSmokey

PPA Problems
I know this is going to sound insane, but...for some reason, my amp isn't quite right. I swear, the vocals are only playing from the left channel of my headphones. It isn't absolute, if I concentrate I can hear the vocals faintly on the right channel, but they are nice and clear on the left. It...- SSSSSmokey

PPA Problems
I know a picture would really help, but I don't have a camera right now. Here are a couple of things I changed, if they could be responsible for the bad sound. Some of the R21, R22, R31, R32 (all 220 ohms) are different. For one of them I ran a 100 and a 120 ohm resistor in series cuz I ran...- SSSSSmokey

PPA Problems
PPA v2.0A My meter really is a POS, but I am guessing from the randomly jumping numbers that it is around 2.2 mV. My DC offset on all 3 channels is 22.8. I used the default resistor values, so if a gain of 11 is default then that is what I have. Otherwise please tell me which resistors set...- SSSSSmokey

PPA Problems
I just finished building my first PPA. My source is a car head unit. I am using a STEPS at 24v to power the PPA. I am using basically the default parts list on Tangents website, except my l/r opamps are OPA637s and my ground opamp is a 627. I get audio, but it is very low quality. It is...- SSSSSmokey

TEPS stuck at 50 volts? Help!
I built this exactly from the directions on Tangent's site. Heres some pics, with that headsink removed so you can see whats in there. http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/6453/dsc011062bq.jpg http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/6107/dsc011116aw.jpg Any wires leading off are for the AC...- SSSSSmokey

TEPS stuck at 50 volts? Help!
For anyone who has built the TEPS power supply, have you ever had this problem? I am totally finished except for one small problem: instead of outputing 24v like I planned, it outputs 50v. Adjusting the VSET (the trim pot) adjusts it from about 49.7 to 50.3. I have tried everything, changing the...- SSSSSmokey

How easy is it to fix broken amps?
How easy is it to find diagnose and fix a broken amp? Like a car or home audio amp, you know. I want to get one and mess around with it, but I don't have a lot of money right now so I could get a broken one and try to fix it or something.- SSSSSmokey
